Recently, Changzhou Metro Line 6 has successively released bidding plans for survey and consulting services and municipal works design, as well as an environmental impact assessment public notice. It is understood that the first phase of Changzhou Metro Line 6 has a total length of 28.9 km and 21 stations, all of which are underground, including 10 transfer stations. The total construction period of the project is 5 years, with construction planned to start this year and the entire project completed in 2029.

The first phase of Changzhou Metro Line 6 starts at Wujin Yanjiang Intercity Station and ends at Changjiang North Road Station, passing through Wujin District, Tianning District and Xinbei District. The alignment as a whole takes a "semi-ring" shape, running mainly along Xihu East Road - Xiacheng Road - Lihua North Road - Yanling Middle Road - Hengtanghe East Road - Longjin Road - East Jing 120 Road - Hanjiang East Road - Huanghe West Road, and reserves conditions at the first-phase terminus, Changjiang North Road Station, for further westward extension to the airport hub, connecting the Hutang cluster, the central cluster and the high-tech cluster.

The first phase of Line 6 has a total length of 28.9 km and 21 stations, namely: Wujin Yanjiang Intercity Station, Changwu Road Station, Science and Education City East Station, Tianrun Avenue Station, Yanzheng East Road Station, Hutang Textile City Station, Ding'an Road Station, Hebei Station, Lihua Station, Chaoyang Station, Zhaofeng Station, Ziyun Station, Zijing Park Station, East Jing 120 Station, Beitanghe Road Station, Dinosaur Park Station, Dinosaur Park West Station, New District Park Station, Tongjiang Road Station, Taishan Road Station, and Changjiang North Road Station, all of which are underground stations. Among them, 10 are transfer stations: Wujin Yanjiang Intercity Station, Tianrun Avenue Station, Yanzheng East Road Station, Lihua Station, Ziyun Station, Zijing Park Station, East Jing 120 Station, Beitanghe Road Station, New District Park Station, and Changjiang North Road Station. The average station spacing is 1.41 km, and the maximum station spacing is in the section from Hebei Station to Lihua Station, at 2,033 m.

According to the existing plan, in the future Metro Line 6 will run directly to Dinosaur Park, so that passengers arriving via the South Yanjiang High-speed Railway can take Line 6 directly to the park. It will also interchange with Metro Line 1 at Wujin Yanjiang Intercity Station and New District Park Station, with Metro Line 2 at Ziyun Station, and with the under-construction Metro Line 5 at East Jing 120 Station.
