On April 23, at the track-laying base of the Botanical Garden Station on the eastern extension of Shenyang Metro Line 1, under the command of on-site engineering and technical personnel, two gantry cranes slowly lifted and transferred a 25-meter-long, 16-ton track panel into the underground U-shaped trench, as track-laying construction on the eastern extension of Metro Line 1 proceeds in an orderly manner.

As of now, the track works on the eastern extension of Shenyang Metro Line 1 have completed a cumulative total of 718 meters of conventional monolithic track bed and 1,434.545 meters of steel spring floating slab track bed. The right line of the section between Boguan North Street Station and Botanical Garden Station has successfully achieved short-track connection, and track-laying construction is currently underway on the left line of the section between Boguan North Street Station and Botanical Garden Station.

The track works of the eastern extension of Shenyang Metro Line 1 start in the west from the section behind Liming Square Station, the terminus of the already-operating Metro Line 1, and extend east to Shuangma Station. The main line track-laying length is 36.655 kilometers, with a total of 18 single turnouts and 2 crossover tracks. Qin Hongfei, construction manager of the track-laying project for the eastern extension of Shenyang Metro Line 1 under China Railway 15th Bureau Group, introduced: "To further accelerate track-laying progress and seize the construction schedule, the line has set up three track-laying bases in total, namely the Botanical Garden Station track-laying base, the Dongling Park Station track-laying base, and the Dongnong open-cut section track-laying base. We carry out track-laying construction efficiently by making use of every available opportunity, quickly forming multiple simultaneous work faces and a multi-point flowering situation, going all out to speed up the construction of the eastern extension of Shenyang Metro Line 1 and create convenient and safe travel conditions for the public."

Facing a tight schedule, complex procedures, and cross-operation by multiple specialized units, Shenyang Metro has comprehensively strengthened safety and quality control, coordinated and organized various resources, and adopted multiple measures to accelerate construction. In line with project milestone goals, a detailed construction plan has been formulated to fully ensure that the eastern extension of Metro Line 1 achieves track connection before the end of this year.

It is understood that the eastern extension project of Shenyang Metro Line 1 starts in the west from Liming Square Station and extends east to Shuangma Station, with a total length of about 16.15 kilometers, all of which are underground lines. The entire line has 10 stations: Xinhui Street Station, Xinning Street Station, Dongdaying Street Station, Agricultural University Station, Qianling Station, Dongling Park Station, Shuiquan Station, Boguan North Street Station, Botanical Garden Station, and Shuangma Station.
