In recent days, severe convective weather has struck many parts of Guangxi, affecting stable power supply. Local power supply departments have been on 24-hour duty, carrying out emergency repairs and restoration of power supply, and making every effort to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid and reliable electricity supply. As of 16:00 on April 23, 99.99% of users affected by the severe convective weather had their power supply restored.
Affected by the combination of an upper-level trough, a shear line and cold air, Guangxi experienced its first large-scale rainstorm and severe convective weather process from April 19 to 21, with moderate to heavy rain and local torrential rain across the region, and strong winds and hail in many places. The process was characterized by a wide range of heavy rainfall, intense severe convective weather, and significant extremes of wind and rain. Heavy rain occurred for two consecutive days in 113 townships across 34 counties (cities and districts) in 9 cities including Hezhou, Guilin and Wuzhou; winds of force 8 or above occurred in 209 townships across 78 counties (cities and districts) in 14 cities; and hail occurred locally in 27 counties and districts of 9 cities including Baise and Hechi.

On April 22, an emergency repair team from the Mengshan Power Supply Bureau of China Southern Power Grid Guangxi New Electric Power Group carried out repairs on damaged power supply lines in Liugui Village, Xinxu Town, Mengshan County, Wuzhou City.
"We closely track weather forecasts, assess the impact of heavy rainfall on the power grid, and issue early warning information in a timely manner to provide reference for equipment operation and maintenance," said Huang Wei, an operation duty officer at the Production Command Center of China Southern Power Grid Guangxi Power Grid Company. During this round of severe convective weather, the center fully leveraged its functions as an "auxiliary decision-making support center, business control center and operation analysis center," issuing early warning notices at the earliest opportunity and guiding relevant units to carry out targeted equipment operation and maintenance and emergency repair and power restoration work.
In Yongfu County, Guilin, on April 21, heavy rain triggered a landslide that caused a fault on the 10 kV Xingliwang Line in Longjiang Township. The Yongfu Power Supply Bureau of China Southern Power Grid Guangxi Guilin promptly organized operation and maintenance personnel to carry out line patrols and found that the section between poles 69 and 70 of the line was affecting reliable power supply due to the landslide. After contacting relevant departments, they learned that it would take two hours to clear the mud and sand piled up by the landslide to open the road. Power supply personnel took a detour on foot over the mountain to reach the damaged point on the line for repairs, and full power supply on the line was restored at 17:50 that day.

On April 22, emergency repair personnel from the Mengshan Power Supply Bureau of China Southern Power Grid Guangxi New Electric Power Group went to conduct a special patrol on the Xincun branch line of the 10 kV Gupai Line.
In recent days, in Wuzhou, Hezhou, Liuzhou, Guilin, Yulin and many other places, power emergency repair teams have been pressing on day and night to speed up emergency repairs and power restoration and ensure power supply. Repair personnel entered affected areas at the earliest opportunity to inspect low-voltage lines and residents' electrical equipment for damage, used drones and other means to patrol important transmission and distribution lines, and carried out special patrols and special maintenance on lines and equipment located in low-lying areas and near areas prone to geological disasters such as landslides and mudslides, striving to achieve "power restoration wherever roads are opened and floodwaters recede."
According to the forecast issued by the Guangxi Meteorological Observatory on the 23rd, moderate to heavy rain and other severe convective weather are expected in parts of eastern and western Guangxi over the next three days. A relevant person in charge of China Southern Power Grid Guangxi Power Grid Company said that the company will closely track meteorological developments, make every effort to defend against disasters caused by heavy rainfall and severe convective weather, and strive to minimize the impact of heavy rainfall on people's lives.
