Shanghai Jinshan Improvement Project Under Accelerated Construction

Currently, the Tinglin New Community Yungang River (Dongfeng Second River–Dating Highway) improvement project, constructed on behalf of the Fangjian Group's Jinjian Real Estate Company, is under intensive construction. The main scope of work includes river channel excavation, dredging earthworks, embankment filling, flood-control access roads, and slope greening. The project is expected to be completed in September and is scheduled to be opened to water in the fourth quarter.

The construction site is bustling with activity, with earth-moving trucks shuttling back and forth and the sounds of excavation and vehicles rising and falling. The project is currently carrying out square pile and plastic steel sheet pile construction, with piling progress having reached 30%. At the same time, earthwork excavation is proceeding in parallel. The reporter learned that in the early stage the project faced many complex factors such as forest land relocation, pipeline relocation, land-use quotas, and construction access roads. The contractor conducted preliminary surveys in advance and communicated proactively and coordinated with relevant functional departments to resolve each issue one by one.

For the relocation, we have also achieved synchronized coordination—constructing while making reservations for areas where pipelines have not yet been relocated, and carrying out subsequent construction after relocation is completed in the future.

The reporter learned that the Yungang River improvement project starts in the south from south of Dating Highway and extends north to Dongfeng Second River. The river centerline length is 705 meters, the planned river mouth width is 40 meters, and the land area control width on each side is 12 meters. The waterlogging drainage standard is a 20-year return period, and the seismic fortification intensity is 7 degrees. As a major project in Jinshan District in 2024, the completion of the newly excavated Yungang River channel will be of great significance for connecting breakpoints in the backbone river network, improving the regional river system, ensuring the waterlogging drainage and flood-control capacity of surrounding areas, and enhancing the regional ecological environment. It will also inject "water" momentum into brightening the waterscape belt around the Jinshan campus of Ruijin Hospital and polishing the ecological backdrop of Tinglin Large Residential Community.

We have laid out colored asphalt flood-control access roads for residents' leisure and entertainment. Along both banks of this river channel, we have designed aquatic plants. The revetment is box-type masonry, creating a waterside platform effect, and in the future it will blend into the Ruijin Hospital area.
