The construction of Shenzhen Metro Line 13 has entered the final sprint stage. As of recently, 8 trains on the line have arrived at the Shenzhen Neihu Depot, where dynamic testing of vehicles and signals and comprehensive integrated joint debugging and testing of all systems are underway. This means Line 13 has taken another step toward the goal of opening to traffic by the end of the year.

It is understood that the Line 13 vehicles match the line's color scheme, with bright orange as the main tone, which is fashionable and bright. The trains are a fully automated driving project designed to the international top-level GOA4 grade, adopting a 6-motor 2-trailer 8-car formation Type A lightweight aluminum alloy car body, with a maximum operating speed of 100 kilometers per hour.

Line 13 is a fully automated operating line. The vehicles have complete safety detection safeguards, including passive obstacle detection, derailment detection, etc. The core control components of the vehicles all meet international safety grade requirements, satisfying the needs of multiple scenarios of fully automated driving and providing all-round guarantees for operational safety. The driver's cab and passenger compartment adopt an integrated through-design, allowing passengers to watch the "shuttle of light and shadow" in the metro tunnel through the train's front window.

The Line 13 trains are equipped with a moving "on-board doctor," featuring advanced intelligent monitoring systems such as pantograph-catenary monitoring, obstacle detection, running gear monitoring, and health management. They can monitor up to 2,600 items of train information in real time and implement more than 100 early warning models, covering health diagnostics of 14 systems/equipment. To address noise issues during operation, the trains feature thickened hollow side windows, thickened sound-insulating and heat-insulating cotton, integrated side-panel gangways, and fully laid composite wooden floors, which will significantly improve the vehicles' sound insulation and noise reduction performance. In addition, the trains adopt the highest-grade EN45545-HL3 whole-train fire protection design, with the floor structure achieving 50 minutes of fire resistance, effectively ensuring passenger safety.
