Construction vehicles shuttle in and out of the tunnel in an orderly manner like worker ants, and the site presents a bustling scene. Thanks to the effective exercise of the leading role of the project's Party building work, since the beginning of the year the construction progress of the Shantou-Shanwei Railway Section 6 project undertaken by China Railway 14th Bureau Group has been constantly refreshed.

China Railway Construction Corporation proposed at its annual series of meetings that deep integration should be continuously strengthened and that Party building work should be carried out closely around the enterprise's development strategy and production and operations. Since its establishment, the project has consistently advanced Party building work in tandem with business projects, setting up a Party branch as soon as it entered the site, giving full play to the leading role of the Party branch, starting from "small entry points" to open up a "big situation" and do a "big article" well.

"Conventional 'meeting-room education' is increasingly difficult to make education work achieve the expected results. Therefore, we advocate adapting to local conditions and 'tailoring to the individual,' using activity forms that Party members enjoy and welcome to advance Party member education," said Su Dongfeng, the project secretary.

"Struggle bears witness to history, and practical work achieves the future" themed speech contests, integrity calligraphy and painting exhibitions... Since its establishment, the project Party branch has held many Party member education activities in diverse forms and with novel content. Based on building a long-term mechanism, by observing how activities are carried out and how employees respond, they have fixed activity forms such as speech contests, calligraphy and painting exhibitions, and script murder games, which not only saves the time and energy of activity planning but also ensures participation and satisfaction, achieving a "twice the result with half the effort" effect.

One branch is one fortress, and one Party member is one banner. Only by upholding the concept of "open-door Party building" can one gather the strengths of many and improve the quality of grassroots Party building. Recently, the Party branch of the Shantou-Shanwei Railway Section 6 project, together with the Party branch of the Guang'ao Port Area Railway Bridge and Tunnel Department, the Party branch of the Emergency Management Bureau of Haojiang District, Shantou City, and the Party branch of Hedu Community, Guang'ao Subdistrict, carried out the "Rural Greening Pioneer Action" joint tree-planting themed Party day activity. Dozens of Party members gathered in Hedu Community, Guang'ao Subdistrict, to carry out voluntary tree-planting volunteer service activities, adding greenery and vitality to the village roads, enhancing the environmental awareness of Party members and cadres, and demonstrating the responsibility of state-owned enterprises in the new era.

"The Shantou-Shanwei Railway is a key project in Guangdong Province. The pre-station Section 6 of the Shantou-Shanwei Railway undertaken by China Railway 14th Bureau Group is 23.286 kilometers long and includes key controlling node projects such as the Shantou Bay Subsea Tunnel, the world's first subsea tunnel with a speed of 350 kilometers per hour. Tunnel construction is affected by fault zones, uneven weathering of granite, and pore water and fissure water in the surrounding rock. Construction safety risks are high and construction is difficult, bringing many problems to construction. How to resolve these problems? Rely on organizational building, rely on the leadership of Party building," introduced Su Dongfeng, the project secretary.
