On March 31, 2024, the scientific and technological achievement evaluation meeting on "Key Technologies and Applications for Safety Control in the Construction of Ultra-Deep Foundation Pits in Complex Strata of Central Urban Areas," organized by the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering, was held in Beijing.
Academician Ren Huiqi of the Chinese Academy of Engineering served as chairman of the evaluation committee, and Professor Zheng Junjie of Huazhong University of Science and Technology served as vice chairman. The committee experts included: Professor Sun Xiaoming of China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing), Professor Liu Xiaoli of Tsinghua University, Professor Wang Fang of Peking University, Professor Wang Qi of the National Key Laboratory of Tunnel Engineering Disaster Prevention and Intelligent Construction and Maintenance, Professor Lü Xiangfeng of the University of Science and Technology Beijing, Senior Engineer Li Hong'an of Beijing Infrastructure Investment Co., Ltd., and Senior Engineer Guo Yuelong of the Beijing Urban Construction Science and Technology Promotion Association. The meeting was chaired by Professor Yang Jun, Acting Secretary-General of the Society.
Dr. Wang Yajian of China University of Geosciences (Beijing) presented the project results on behalf of the project team. The project was led by China Railway 18th Bureau Group Co., Ltd., in collaboration with China Railway Construction Kunlun Investment Group Co., Ltd., China University of Geosciences (Beijing), China Railway Construction Kunlun Metro Investment and Construction Management Co., Ltd., and China Railway 18th Bureau Group Municipal Engineering Co., Ltd., forming a research and development team. Addressing the challenges of constructing ultra-deep foundation pits in complex strata in central urban areas, and relying on the ultra-deep foundation pit project at Luomashi Station of Chengdu Rail Transit Line 18, the team conducted systematic research on engineering challenges such as ultra-deep dewatering in sand-pebble-mudstone composite sand-interbedded strata, settlement control adjacent to existing stations, and prediction of open-cut disturbance in ultra-deep foundation pits. The research covered three aspects: calculation methods for seepage-induced settlement during ultra-deep dewatering in composite strata, key technologies for micro-disturbance construction of ultra-deep foundation pits adjacent to existing lines, and multi-objective prediction models for disturbance in ultra-deep foundation pits. The team proposed three innovative achievements: a multi-dimensional calculation method for seepage-induced settlement during ultra-deep dewatering, key technologies for micro-disturbance open-cut construction of ultra-deep foundation pits adjacent to existing lines and stations, and a dynamic data-driven multi-objective prediction model for ground settlement and retaining structure deformation, thus forming key technologies for safety control in the construction of ultra-deep foundation pits in complex strata of central urban areas. The project results have been applied in multiple rail transit deep foundation pit projects in cities such as Chengdu, Beijing, and Nanning, with significant economic, social, and environmental benefits.
The evaluation committee experts listened to the project team's report, reviewed the relevant materials, and after questioning, discussion, and deliberation, unanimously agreed that the project's research results have reached the international leading level overall.
The project team expressed sincere gratitude to the Society for its careful organization and to the attending experts for their meticulous guidance, and stated that they would further improve the scientific and technological achievements in accordance with the opinions of the evaluation committee and actively apply for the Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering.
