On April 13, as two chartered Air China flights landed at Wuhan Tianhe International Airport in Hubei Province, the first batch of 130 Chinese nationals suspected of illegal gambling and fraud were escorted back to China by our public security organs from Cambodia. This is the first batch of repatriation and escort missions organized by the Chinese and Cambodian police this year, marking the start of joint efforts by the two countries' police to combat illegal gambling and fraud crimes.

In recent years, in order to crack down on prominent crimes such as cross-border gambling and telecom and online fraud in accordance with the law, the Chinese and Cambodian police have worked closely together, deepened cooperation on enforcement, and achieved a series of notable results. Building on previous work and in accordance with the national deployment for combating and governing cross-border gambling, our public security organs, together with the Cambodian police, recently organized a joint operation against illegal gambling and fraud crimes. During the operation, the Cambodian police destroyed multiple gambling and fraud dens in Sihanoukville, arrested a large number of Chinese suspects, and seized a batch of servers, computers, mobile phones and other tools used in the crimes. Under the command of the Ministry of Public Security, the Hubei public security organs dispatched a working group to Cambodia to carry out repatriation and escort work together with the Cambodian police, and starting from today, the above-mentioned persons will be escorted back to China in batches by chartered civil flights.

A responsible person from the Ministry of Public Security said that the public security organs will continue to deepen police law enforcement cooperation with relevant countries and regions, carry out sustained special crackdowns, resolutely eradicate gambling and fraud dens targeting our country, arrest suspects in accordance with the law, firmly curb the high incidence of such crimes, and effectively safeguard the lives and property of the people.
