Recently, the "Guling" Tunnel on Section W10 of the S358 Qingyang–Hongshi Highway Reconstruction Project, a key national and provincial highway reconstruction project in Chizhou City, was successfully holed through. It is the first tunnel on the entire line to be completed, marking phased progress in the construction of the S358 reconstruction project.

　　The S358 Qingyang–Hongshi Highway Reconstruction Project is a key transportation construction project of Chizhou City's 14th Five-Year Plan. It starts in Rongcheng Town, Qingyang County, passes through Miaoqian and Ducun in Qingyang County and Meijie and Meicun in Guichi District, and ends in Xiaohe Town, Shitai County, with a total length of about 78.6 kilometers and an estimated investment of 2.3 billion yuan. It is the longest national and provincial highway reconstruction project ever undertaken in Chizhou City. The "Guling" Tunnel, a controlling works of the entire S358 reconstruction project, is 1,166 meters long, with a single-tube, two-lane, two-way design and a design speed of 60 km/h.

　　To overcome various adverse factors such as complex stratum conditions, unstable geological structures, abundant groundwater, and a narrow construction environment, the Chizhou Highway Center, targeting the tunnel's characteristics and difficulties, effectively ensured the safe and high-quality holing-through of the tunnel through scientific monitoring and measurement and optimization of the construction plan. According to reports, the project aims to complete the main works in 2025. Once completed, it will not only facilitate travel for residents along the route, but also be of great significance for removing transportation bottlenecks constraining regional development and promoting the development of the tourism industry in townships along the route.
