On the morning of April 11, as the last steel box girder section—15 meters long and weighing 245.6 tons—was steadily lowered into place on the bridge deck, the main span of the Fuxing Yangtze River Bridge on the Jianglong Expressway was successfully closed. The bridge has a total length of 1,543 meters and a main span of 1,208 meters, making it the longest-span steel box girder suspension bridge in the Three Gorges Reservoir area and the upper reaches of the Yangtze River.

The Kaizhou–Yunyang Expressway (Jiangkou–Yunyang–Longgang section) is a major north-south corridor in the "three horizontal, one vertical" transportation network of northeastern Chongqing, and the Fuxing Yangtze River Bridge is a key controlling project of the Jianglong Expressway.

It is reported that the Jianglong Expressway starts at Jiangkou Town in Yunyang County and ends at Yunfeng (Longgang), with a total length of 70 kilometers. A Longgang interchange connects it to the Longgang Scenic Area, and the entire line is expected to open to traffic next year. By then, the drive from Yunyang County seat to the Longgang Scenic Area will be shortened from the original 2 hours to 40 minutes.
