Recently, Baicheng County held the commencement and resumption ceremony for major water conservancy projects in 2024. Huo Jun, Secretary of the County Party Committee, attended the ceremony and announced the start of the projects. Aikebaier Turdi, Deputy Secretary of the County Party Committee and County Mayor, presided over the ceremony.

　　In recent years, Baicheng County has resolutely shouldered the responsibility for water, solved water-related problems, and done a good job in water-related work, striving to enhance water resource allocation capacity. It has always regarded water conservancy project construction as an important support for high-quality economic development, vigorously promoted project construction, and attracted a number of major water conservancy projects to settle in Baicheng one after another with an open policy environment, high-quality service environment, and stable social environment.

　　It is reported that the 8 key projects launched in a concentrated manner this time have a planned total investment of 1.28 billion yuan, including 6 new projects and 2 continued projects, involving 9 townships and covering multiple fields such as irrigation district infrastructure, water diversion hubs, flood prevention and disaster reduction, safe water diversion, and water conservancy informatization. They are of great historical significance for Baicheng County in further optimizing the water network structure, promoting the transformation of advantageous water resources, and accelerating the coordinated development of the regional economy.

　　The Hongqi North Main Canal Large-scale Irrigation District Project is a key water conservancy project in Baicheng County this year and also a livelihood project and popular-support project of Baicheng County. The total investment of the project is 825.3 million yuan, and the project is classified as a Class III medium-sized project. The project mainly includes the construction of a new full-river water diversion canal, the construction and renovation of main canals, supporting canal system structures, flood dikes, management station buildings, and supporting construction of automated water measurement facilities in the irrigation district. After the project is completed, it will effectively shorten the irrigation cycle, improve irrigation water use efficiency, alleviate the contradiction between water supply and demand in the irrigation district, greatly reduce sediment entering the irrigation district, and provide basic guarantees for high-standard farmland construction.
