Recently, it was learned from the Municipal Development and Reform Commission that since the beginning of this year, Sichuan and Chongqing have been going all out to boost the economy, pursue construction, and advance projects with the determination to treat the start as the decisive battle and the beginning as the sprint. By the end of the first quarter, 300 jointly built major engineering projects had completed an annual investment of 110.87 billion yuan, with an annual investment completion rate of 25.4%, achieving a "good start."

　　Modern infrastructure project construction has achieved comprehensive breakthroughs. The Pibayan No. 1 Tunnel, the first tunnel on the Xi'an-Chongqing High-Speed Railway to be introduced into the Chongqing hub, was successfully holed through; the Kaijiang-Liangping Expressway has entered the project acceptance stage; the Chongqing section of the Sichuan-Chongqing 1,000 kV UHV AC project has been fully connected; Phase III of the North-South Avenue in the Sichuan-Chongqing Gaozhu New Area was officially opened to traffic; and the west runway of the Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport quality improvement and renovation project has been completed and put into use.

　　Modern industry and scientific and technological innovation projects are also being advanced in an orderly manner. Projects such as the Jiulongpo Southwest Aluminum capacity expansion, Phase II of the Jinfeng Software Park (Huxi Park), the Yibin photovoltaic industry project, and the Ziyang Airport Economic Zone Smart Valley Science and Innovation Park started construction as planned; the No. 3 comprehensive building of the Chongqing High-Tech Zone STMicroelectronics 8-inch silicon carbide epitaxy and chip project has been topped out; and Phase I of the Chengdu Medical City (Gemdale Viseen Science and Innovation Park) and Phase I of the Mianyang Tianyi Shangjia Green Energy New Material Innovation Industrial Park have been completed.

　　Cultural tourism, ecological and environmental protection, opening-up, and public service projects are being accelerated. The rooftop photovoltaic portion of the Jieli Wheel Hub factory building under the Dianjiang High-Tech Zone circular and green transformation project has been completed and put into use; the main structure of the Chongqing Hospital of Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology has been topped out; the main construction of the polymorphic coupled rail transit dynamic model test platform has been completed; the installation works of the National High-End Aviation Equipment Technology Innovation Center have been completed; Phase II of the Tianfu Hospital of West China Second University Hospital, Sichuan University (Sichuan Provincial Children's Hospital) is undergoing main structure construction; and the National Southwest Regional Emergency Rescue Center has entered the project acceptance stage.

　　A responsible person from the Municipal Development and Reform Commission stated that next, Sichuan and Chongqing will seize the golden period for construction, strengthen overall coordination, reinforce factor guarantees, and provide good scheduling services, so as to further accelerate the advancement of major projects, strive to achieve more landmark and visible results, and provide strong support for the in-depth and solid development of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.
