After two and a half years of construction, the No. 2 inclined shaft to the exit section of the Binghui Tunnel, the second-longest tunnel on the Chongqing–Kunming High-Speed Railway, was successfully holed through recently. This major engineering breakthrough marks key progress in the construction of the Chongqing–Kunming High-Speed Railway and provides solid assurance for the completion and opening of the entire line.

The Binghui Tunnel, with a total length of 21.17 kilometers, is the second-longest tunnel on the entire line and a Class I high-risk tunnel, located within Yiliang County, Zhaotong City. The tunnel presents diverse risks, including seven types such as dangerous rockfall, collapse, sudden mud and water inrush, tunnel floor deformation, gas, large deformation, and rockburst, with 14 sections of extremely high risk and 30 sections of high risk.
