On April 3, the exit and cross adit of the Hujiayuan Tunnel, constructed and managed by the Hubei Company of the Wuhan-Jiujiang Passenger Dedicated Line and built by the China Railway Tunnel Group under Section 2 (pre-station) of the Hubei section of the Xi'an-Shiyan High-Speed Railway, were successfully holed through, creating favorable conditions for the full breakthrough of the Hujiayuan Tunnel.

　　The Hujiayuan Tunnel has a total length of 4,456 meters and a maximum burial depth of about 200 meters. It is the second-longest tunnel in Section 2 (pre-station) of the Hubei section of the Xi'an-Shiyan High-Speed Railway and a controlling project of the entire Xi'an-Shiyan High-Speed Railway. The breakthrough point is in Grade IV surrounding rock. During tunnel excavation, the project department adhered to the principles of "short advance, weak blasting, strong support, rapid sealing, and frequent measurement," effectively ensuring construction safety.

　　The Xi'an-Shiyan High-Speed Railway is located in southeastern Shaanxi Province and northwestern Hubei Province. It is an important component of the longitudinal corridor of the high-speed railway network in the Medium- and Long-Term Railway Network Plan and the National Railway "13th Five-Year" Development Plan, with a design speed of 350 km/h. Once the Xi'an-Shiyan High-Speed Railway opens, railway travel times from Xi'an to Shiyan and from Xi'an to Wuhan will be further shortened. The construction of the Xi'an-Shiyan High-Speed Railway is of great significance for further improving the national high-speed railway network, strengthening the connection between the Guanzhong urban agglomeration and the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, and driving social and economic development along the route.
