On April 5, the assembly of the core components of the "Dinghai" shield tunneling machine for the Zhoushan side of the Jintang Subsea Tunnel of the Ningbo-Zhoushan Railway, constructed by the China Railway 11th Bureau Group, was completed, laying the foundation for the shield machine of the Jintang Subsea Tunnel of the Ningbo-Zhoushan Railway to launch and bore beneath the sea.

　　The Jintang Subsea Tunnel of the Ningbo-Zhoushan Railway starts from Beilun District of Ningbo City in the west and ends at Jintang Town of Zhoushan City in the east, with a total length of 16.18 kilometers, of which the shield-bored section is 11.21 kilometers long. The Ningbo-Zhoushan Railway starts from Ningbo East Station in the west and ends at Baiquan Town of Dinghai District in the east, with 7 stations and a total line length of about 77 kilometers and a design speed of 250 kilometers per hour. Upon completion, the project will be of great significance for improving the railway network layout and promoting the integrated and same-city development of Ningbo and Zhoushan.
