On April 3, the reporter learned from the Office of the Sichuan Provincial Forest and Grassland Fire Prevention and Extinguishing Command (hereinafter referred to as the "Provincial Forest Fire Prevention Command Office") that the province has issued an orange alert for high forest fire danger. It is expected that from April 3 to 7, forest fire danger levels in parts of southern Sichuan will reach the high-danger level.

The meteorological department forecasts that from April 3 to 7, the main forest (pasture) areas of Panzhihua City and western and southern Liangshan Prefecture will be dominated by clear to partly cloudy weather with no effective precipitation, and the forest and grassland fire-danger meteorological rating will be high. The forestry and grassland department forecasts that during the same period, the forest and grassland fire danger level in the above areas will be mainly Level 4 (high danger).

After consultation between the Provincial Forest Fire Prevention Command Office, the Provincial Forestry and Grassland Bureau, the Sichuan Meteorological Bureau and relevant areas, it is expected that from April 3 to 7, the forest and grassland fire danger level in Panzhihua City and western and southern Liangshan Prefecture (involving 13 county-level administrative units) will remain at the high-danger level. An orange alert for high forest and grassland fire danger is hereby issued.

Orange alert areas for high forest and grassland fire danger: Liangshan Prefecture (8): Xichang City, Muli Tibetan Autonomous County, Yanyuan County, Mianning County, Dechang County, Huili City, Huidong County, Ningnan County; Panzhihua City (5): Dong District, Xi District, Renhe District, Miyi County, Yanbian County.

The Provincial Forest Fire Prevention Command Office pointed out that the above areas must attach great importance to the severe forest and grassland fire prevention and extinguishing situation in the relevant localities, earnestly implement the work arrangements and deployments of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Government and the Provincial Forest Fire Prevention Command, strengthen bottom-line thinking and extreme-case thinking, enhance monitoring, early warning and consultation analysis, and closely track changes in the fire danger situation. Departments at all levels and in all localities must strictly implement response measures in accordance with the requirements of the "Notice of the Sichuan Provincial Forest and Grassland Fire Prevention and Extinguishing Command on Carrying Out Normalized, Zoned and Tiered Precise Prevention and Control of Forest and Grassland Fire Danger" (Chuan Sen Fang Zhi [2021] No. 31). Relevant departments at the provincial and municipal (prefectural) levels must pay close attention to the fire danger situation, strengthen duty shifts and random inspections and scheduling, share information, coordinate and act in unison, and proactively take preventive measures to prepare for emergency response in advance. Once a fire occurs, response must be rapid, firefighting must be safe, and handling must be scientific.
