New progress has been reported on the Zhaoming Expressway! On March 28, the Jiuyuan Tunnel on the Zhaoming Expressway, invested and constructed by China Energy Engineering Corporation's Gezhouba Group, achieved breakthrough of its left tube, creating favorable conditions for bridge construction around the tunnel and marking a phased victory in the project's construction.

It is understood that the Zhaoming Expressway features a total of four tunnels. The Jiuyuan Tunnel is located in Jiuyuan Village, Xiaoxiang Town, Gaoyao District, Zhaoqing City, and adopts a separated design. The left tube has a total length of 2,546 meters and a maximum burial depth of approximately 289 meters.

The Jiuyuan Tunnel lies in a tectonically denuded low-mountain terrain area, where the surrounding rock is dominated by weathered granite with poor stability when exposed to water. The project company and all participating units assessed construction risks, optimized the construction plan, and intercepted and drained surface water and groundwater. During construction, excavation advance was strictly controlled, following the principles of "short excavation, strong support, timely and tight lining, solid backfilling, strict water control, and frequent measurement" to ensure construction quality and safety.

At present, the project company is taking multiple measures to strengthen progress, quality, and safety control, enhancing grid-based management, advancing standardized safety production, standardizing team building, strengthening on-site civilized construction control, and conducting all-staff quality, safety, and environmental inspections. Through refined on-site operations, it is comprehensively accelerating and improving the efficiency of the project's tunnel, bridge, and pavement construction to ensure the successful completion of all milestone targets.
