It is learned from the Hebei Provincial Department of Transportation that this year Hebei plans to complete 110 billion yuan of investment in transportation infrastructure, and the construction of major transportation projects across the province is being accelerated with greater effort. As of mid-March, all 14 expressway sections have started construction. Of the 40 highway projects to be opened to traffic or under continued construction this year, 36 have already commenced. Implementation plans have also been issued for all 238 ordinary trunk highway maintenance projects. The province's transportation system has pressed the "fast-forward button" for project construction through a series of measures such as strengthening coordination services and organizing centralized service month activities.

　　On March 18, the second phase of the Hebei section of the Beijing-Xiong'an Expressway, with a total length of 12.5 kilometers, broke ground. The project will organize themed competitions to ensure it is completed and opened to traffic by the end of 2025. Once completed, the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway and Daxing Airport will be directly connected by expressway, which is of great significance for enhancing the capacity of Daxing Airport's collecting and distributing transportation supply and advancing the integrated development of transportation in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

　　New projects are being implemented at a faster pace, and projects under construction are in full swing.

　　According to the relevant person in charge of the Hengshui section of the Handan-Huanghua Port Expressway project, since the beginning of spring, the project has increased inputs of personnel and equipment, and is scheduled to be ready for opening to traffic in October. The project has extensively adopted new technologies and new equipment, and with intelligentization as the driving force, has applied mobile high-precision surveying robots, unmanned driving fleets, and 3D paving automatic control systems to the construction site, making the road surface smoother and the paving thickness control more precise.

　　As a key provincial construction project, the Hengshui section of the Handan-Huanghua Port Expressway starts from Dengjiazhuang in Taocheng District and ends at Xiaoningzhuang in Jing County, with a total length of about 63 kilometers. To ensure construction progress, the builders have not stopped work during holidays and have set off a construction boom through labor competitions. As of mid-March, this project with a total investment of 6.8 billion yuan has completed more than 97% of its investment. After opening to traffic, it will form an important channel for the central region of the province to reach the sea and for Shanxi coal to be transported eastward, greatly enhancing Huanghua Port's radiating capacity to the inland areas.
