On April 1, according to a message on the "Customs Release" WeChat official account, the West Kowloon Station Customs recently seized a case of inbound passengers concealing and smuggling pearls, with a total of 332 pearls seized.

　　When customs officers at West Kowloon Station were supervising inbound passengers and their luggage in the port passenger inspection hall, they found that the X-ray image of one passenger's luggage was abnormal, so they conducted a further inspection. Upon inspection, 186 pearls were seized in concealed locations such as a tissue packet in the coat pocket inside the passenger's suitcase and a disposable medical mask packet in a plastic bag inside the suitcase, and 146 pearls were seized in the interlayer of the underwear worn by the passenger, totaling 332 pearls.

　　Customs reminder: According to Article 7 of the Regulations of the People's Republic of China on the Implementation of Customs Administrative Penalties, evading customs supervision by concealment, disguise, false declaration, fraudulent declaration, or other means, and transporting, carrying, or mailing goods or articles that are prohibited or restricted from entering or leaving the country, or goods or articles on which duties shall be paid according to law, into or out of the country, constitutes smuggling and will be subject to legal liability.
