On March 26, the double-line breakthrough ceremony for the Xidi Tunnel of the G530 Project in Yi County, Anhui Province, was held at the left portal of the tunnel, marking the smooth breakthrough of what is currently the longest highway tunnel in Yi County.

　　The Xidi Tunnel is the longest highway tunnel under construction in Yi County. It is designed as a twin-bore separated tunnel, with the left bore 1,136 meters long and the right bore 1,182 meters long, and a design speed of 80 km/h. Since the start of construction on the Xidi Tunnel, in the face of complex bridge-tunnel structures and numerous adverse factors, the construction department has attached great importance to the work, closely monitored construction milestones, reasonably reversed the construction schedule, continuously optimized the construction plan, rationally allocated resources, strengthened process control, and strictly implemented all requirements for safety risk prevention and control and refined construction, successfully completing the double-line breakthrough task two months ahead of schedule.

　　According to reports, the Xidi Tunnel has a total length of 1.2 kilometers and links Hongcun and Xidi. During construction, simultaneous work at four portals—two on each side—was adopted, shortening the construction period and achieving the double-line breakthrough two months ahead of schedule. Next, remaining work such as the tunnel secondary lining, pavement, and electromechanical systems will continue, while subgrade, pavement, traffic safety facilities, and landscaping construction will be accelerated, with the aim of completing the main works by the end of this year.

　　The G530 Yi County County Seat to Xiuning Dongting Reconstruction Project (Yi County County Seat Section) has a total length of about 9.78 kilometers. The highway is built to the standard of a two-way, four-lane Class I highway and also serves urban municipal functions, with a design speed of 80 km/h. The project connects Yi County and the Yi County East High-Speed Railway Station. The entire line includes one separated long tunnel of 1,180 meters, one major bridge of 126 linear meters, one medium bridge of 30.04 linear meters, and 34 culverts, with a total investment of approximately 972.1216 million yuan. Upon completion, the project will greatly improve the transportation environment of Yi County, enhance its locational advantages, promote the rapid development of the tourism economy, and play an important role in the high-quality construction of the Greater Yishan high-quality international rural tourism comprehensive demonstration area and a leisure and wellness tourism destination.

　　It is understood that the G530 Huangshan City Yi County Reconstruction Project has a total length of 9.78 kilometers and is a rapid corridor connecting the Yi County county seat and Yi County East Station. It will not only facilitate public travel but also promote the high-quality economic and social development of Yi County, while playing a positive role in the protection and inheritance of the Xidi ancient dwellings. The project is expected to officially open to traffic in June next year.
