On March 28, after 24 hours of emergency search and rescue by firefighting, public security, emergency response, medical emergency, and town government departments, Mr. Zheng, a Zhejiang native "migrant bird" (seasonal resident) who had been lost and trapped for 4 days, successfully escaped danger at around 20:00 on March 26 in Poyue Village, Jiazuan Town, Bama Yao Autonomous County, Hechi City, Guangxi.

At around 20:00 on March 25, the fire department received a report that Mr. Zheng had been missing for 3 days in the deep mountains near Baimo Cave Scenic Area in Poyue Village, Jiazuan Town, Bama Yao Autonomous County. The fire department immediately dispatched more than 40 firefighters from the Poyue Fire Rescue Station and the Bama Shouxiang Fire Rescue Station to the scene to carry out rescue. At 21:05, all rescue forces arrived at the scene.

Rescuers worked together to save the trapped elderly man.

The Baimo Cave Scenic Area features typical karst landforms. Near the rear cave, there are steep mountains, dense strange rocks and vegetation, steep slopes, overgrown weeds, and slippery mountain paths; a slight misstep could cause one to slide off a cliff, posing great difficulties for the search and rescue work. In addition, the elderly man's location was uncertain, so the firefighters enlisted local villagers as guides and formed search and rescue teams with public security, emergency response, and medical personnel to search the mountain. The rescue team explored on foot while opening up rescue routes. Braving dangers and hardships, the search and rescue team conducted searches day and night for more than 20 hours, and finally at around 16:00 on the 26th, firefighters found the unconscious elderly man beneath an unnamed cliff.

Rescuers worked together to save the trapped elderly man.

Upon examination, the trapped elderly man was found to be confused and unable to move. Firefighters used a water-soaked cotton swab to give him water, and only then did he improve slightly. After medical personnel conducted a preliminary check of his vital signs, firefighters secured him on a multifunctional stretcher, and after taking safety protection measures, safely brought him down the mountain. When the elderly man was safely rescued down the mountain, the people at the scene burst into warm applause, applauding and praising the search and rescue personnel for their selfless dedication and heroic actions. At around 20:00, the trapped elderly man was placed in an ambulance and taken to the hospital for further treatment.

It is reported that the caller, Ms. Zhang, said that the trapped elderly man was a Zhejiang native "migrant bird" who had gone out on March 21 and never returned. Therefore, at around 20:00 on the 25th, Ms. Zhang called him to inquire about the situation and learned that before the incident, the elderly man had gone up the mountain alone to explore. Because he was unfamiliar with the terrain and it got dark, he became lost and accidentally fell off a rocky cliff and was injured. His approximate location was behind Baimo Cave. Ms. Zhang then immediately called 119 for help. Fortunately, the rescue was timely, and the elderly man was able to turn from danger to safety.
