In mid-March, the 2024 Gansu Provincial water conservancy projects concentrated start and resumption activities, including the New Area water conservancy project, were held. With the concentrated start of construction, the New Area Miao'ergou Reservoir Project, the Huojiawan Storage Project Heightening and Capacity Expansion Project, and the Shimengou No. 2 Reservoir Water Supply Pipeline Project also sounded the drums of battle and drew their bows taut, playing a spring "song of forging ahead."

　　At the Miao'ergou Reservoir Project site, excavators and bulldozers are running at full power in intense operation. Construction personnel and materials are arriving on site one after another, presenting a bustling construction scene. The project has a planned total investment of 432 million yuan, and construction is currently underway at 8 work faces. Once the project is fully completed, it can effectively guarantee water use for the New Area Urban Mineral and Surface Treatment Industrial Park and surrounding enterprises, meet the agricultural irrigation water demand in the southeastern part of the New Area, and at the same time provide abundant water sources for undertaking provincial resettlement and supporting resettlement industries.

　　At the site of the Huojiawan Storage Project Heightening and Capacity Expansion Project, machines roar and personnel are in place, with work busy yet orderly. The project construction content includes five parts: the water diversion box culvert reconstruction project, the revetment heightening project, the gate chamber renovation project, the wave wall and safety fence project, and the mud-bound macadam road and drainage ditch project. Implementing the Huojiawan Storage Project Heightening and Capacity Expansion Project can effectively increase the total storage capacity of the Huojiawan Storage Project, make up for the shortcoming of insufficient storage capacity, and provide guarantee for water use in the southern area of the New Area.

　　At the construction site of the Shimengou No. 2 Reservoir Water Supply Pipeline Project, various machines are cooperating with workers who are busy carrying out processes such as pipe trench excavation, pipeline laying, welding, and pressure testing. After the project is implemented, it can further optimize the allocation of water resources in the New Area and improve the guarantee rate of domestic and industrial water use in the New Area.

　　It is reported that this year the New Area Water Affairs Group will build a total of 22 water conservancy projects, with a total investment of 1.65 billion yuan, including 2 newly started projects and 20 continued projects. The Water Affairs Group will continue to optimize project service guarantees, strengthen whole-process project management, and continuously advance engineering project construction, building premium projects with "quality" as the foundation, and striving with all efforts for the smooth completion and commissioning of all key water conservancy projects, ensuring the realization of a first-quarter "good start" in water conservancy project construction.
