As of 12:00 on March 26, the main tunnel of the Binghui Tunnel on the Yunnan-Guizhou section (Section 2, pre-station) of the Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway—the second longest tunnel on the line, constructed by China Railway No. 5 Engineering Group—has been excavated to 20,042 meters.

According to reports, the Binghui Tunnel has a single-track length of 21.17 kilometers and is rated a Class I high-risk tunnel, with seven types of hazards including dangerous rockfalls, collapses, sudden mud and water inrushes, and tunnel floor deformation. Construction operations must alternately pass through basalt, mudstone-sandstone, limestone, and coal-bearing strata. During peak periods, 22 working faces must be constructed simultaneously, involving multiple work sites such as "2 cross adits + 2 inclined shafts + 1 parallel heading + the exit," making organization work such as construction material management, long-distance ventilation, and reverse-slope drainage extremely difficult, and construction progress faces challenges on multiple fronts.

Facing these difficulties, the project team took the initiative, overcame the impact of adverse factors, and strictly implemented standardized site construction. Through labor competitions such as "Seven Comparisons and One Creation" and "Quality Project," the project team fully mobilized the enthusiasm of all relevant parties and advanced construction production safely, with high quality, and efficiently.
