On March 18, the reporter learned from the Sichuan Provincial Forest Fire Brigade that after intense firefighting efforts by more than 1,200 rescue personnel, the forest fire in Gala Town, Yajiang County, Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, has been brought under control with smooth progress: the open flames at Fire Site No. 1 have been extinguished, and the Garze Prefecture Forest Detachment, which was responsible for fighting Fire Site No. 1, has moved into the phase of clearing smoke spots and standing dead trees and fallen logs. Firefighting at Fire Sites No. 2 and No. 3 is also proceeding smoothly according to the established plan. After breaking through the fire line at Tongda Village, the Special Service Brigade of the Sichuan Provincial Forest Fire Brigade, together with the attached professional firefighting teams from Yajiang, Jiulong, Kangding, and Danba, successfully intercepted the forest fire spreading northeastward from Fire Site No. 2, effectively controlling further expansion and spread of the fire site.

　　Reinforcements from the Panzhihua Detachment, Aba Detachment, and Liangshan Detachment of the Sichuan Provincial Forest Fire Brigade have also arrived in Yajiang and were deployed to Fire Site No. 2 for firefighting in the early hours of today.
