On March 12, more than 380 workers were already engaged in intensive construction at the Xiaonan Street Station site of Chengdu Rail Transit Line 13, adjacent to People's Park, striving to complete the station's topping-out within the year. According to the on-site person in charge of Chengdu Rail Transit Line 13 of Chengdu Rail Group, as of now, 20 of the line's 21 stations have been topped out, 16 stations have entered the electromechanical installation stage, and Xiaonan Street Station will also be topped out in the second half of 2024; the shield tunneling sections have cumulatively completed 90%; track laying is more than halfway complete. "Line construction is progressing steadily according to the established goals."

　　Walking out of People's Park Station and heading south along Xiaonan Street, the fenced-off area is the Xiaonan Street Station construction site. The station is located beneath Xiaonan Street and is an interchange station for Line 13 and Line 17. As of now, earthwork at the entire station is 78% complete, structural construction is 33% complete, and about 60% of the total project volume has been cumulatively completed.

　　Xiaonan Street Station is situated beneath Xiaonan Street, where the road is about 25 meters wide, while the station construction width reaches 23 meters. The construction team has organized the entry of materials in an orderly manner and refined the construction organization, ensuring that overall progress advances normally as expected. The station is expected to be topped out in the second half of 2024, after which it can move into the equipment installation and decoration stages.

　　The first phase of the Chengdu Rail Transit Line 13 project starts at WayaoTan Station and ends at Long'an Station, passing mainly through Qingyang District, Wuhou District, Jinjiang District, and Longquanyi District. The project runs from west to east along West Section 3 of Dongpo Road - Peifeng Road - Dongpo Road - Jiayuan Road - Qinghua Road - Qingyang Shangjie - Jinli Middle Road - Xiaotianzhu Street - Zhimin Road - Longjiang Road - Jingjusi Road - Jing'an Road - Chenglong Avenue. The line has a total length of about 29.07 kilometers, with 21 stations, all of which are underground.

　　Chengdu Rail Transit Line 13 uses 8A formation trains with a design speed of 140 km/h. In September 2023, the first train was officially unveiled, making it the first 140 km/h urban fully automated operating train in China. The train is not only fast and has a large passenger capacity, but also features high intelligence, high comfort, and high safety.

　　In the future, after the first phase of Line 13 opens for initial operation, it will strengthen the connection between Longquanyi District and the central urban area, and provide transfers with other lines within the urban area, connecting attractions such as Du Fu Thatched Cottage, Qingyang Palace, Xingfu Meilin, and Sansheng Huaxiang, and linking universities such as Sichuan University (Huaxi Campus) and Sichuan Normal University (Shizishan Campus), effectively improving the accessibility of the regional rail transit network.
