On the 13th, the reporter learned from the Public Works Bureau of the Macao SAR Government that the fourth cross-sea bridge between the Macao Peninsula and Taipa successfully achieved full-span closure on the evening of the 12th, marking the project's comprehensive transition from the main structural works to the bridge ancillary structure works.

The bridge starts from the east side of Macao New Town Zone A, connects with the artificial island of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge port, crosses the Outer Harbor Fairway and the Macao Waterway, and reaches Macao New Town Zone E1. The main line of the bridge has a total length of 3.085 kilometers, of which the cross-sea section is about 2.9 kilometers long, with two navigable-span bridges with a span of 280 meters.

The main line of the bridge is designed with eight lanes in both directions, with the middle two lanes dedicated to motorcycles. At the same time, the bridge deck is equipped with reserved corridors for various pipelines such as high-voltage cables, gas, tap water, reclaimed water, fire protection, and telecommunications, making it key infrastructure for boosting the development of New Town Zones A and E.

After the bridge opens, it will effectively ease the traffic pressure on the existing three bridges, improve traffic capacity between the Macao Peninsula and Taipa and Coloane, and meet the traffic demand of the development of the New Town Reclamation Zone A.

The smooth completion of the closure has laid a solid foundation for the subsequent procedures of the project. In addition, the supporting works at the various landing points of the bridge will all be completed before the ** quarter of this year, making full preparations for the opening.
