According to the official WeChat account of the Shenzhen Municipal Administration for Market Regulation, at 9:16 a.m. on March 12, the administration detected an online post reporting that on March 11, multiple students at Shenzhen Longhua District Experimental School experienced symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea after eating lunch at the school.

The Shenzhen Municipal Administration for Market Regulation activated its food safety emergency response procedures, organizing law enforcement officers to conduct on-site inspections of the school and the catering supplier. In accordance with the law, they sealed and sampled the school's retained meal samples as well as the catering company's food retention samples and raw materials, which have been sent to the disease control department and other testing agencies for testing. Currently, the Shenzhen Municipal Administration for Market Regulation has, in accordance with the law, opened a case and launched an investigation into the catering company's suspected illegal activities, conducting a full-process investigation and traceability of its raw material procurement, production and processing, and other aspects.

Next, the Shenzhen Municipal Administration for Market Regulation will, based on the test results and investigation conclusions, investigate and punish the matter promptly and strictly in accordance with the law, and will join forces with the municipal and district education departments to strengthen supervision of off-campus catering companies, consolidate the companies' primary responsibilities, strengthen source control, and ensure the safety of students' meals.
