On March 13, the reporter learned from the Office of the Tianjin Heavy Pollution Weather Emergency Command that, according to the air quality consultation results, Tianjin is expected to experience a heavy pollution weather process starting from the evening of March 14. In accordance with the relevant provisions of the "Tianjin Heavy Pollution Weather Emergency Plan," Tianjin issued an orange alert for heavy pollution weather and launched a Level II emergency response starting at 20:00 on March 14.

In response, Tianjin will implement "mandatory emission reduction measures," including controls on industrial enterprises. At the same time, Tianjin has put forward "recommended measures," advocating green travel and green living among the public, encouraging people to choose public transportation or electric vehicles for travel; advocating green consumption among the public, minimizing the use of raw materials and products such as coatings, paints, and solvents that contain volatile organic compounds; and strengthening public transportation capacity support.

In addition, the Tianjin Heavy Pollution Weather Emergency Command issued health protection guidelines, reminding children, the elderly, patients with heart and lung diseases, and patients with allergic diseases to stay indoors and stop outdoor exercise; the general public should reduce outdoor exercise, and those who must go out should take protective measures; schools and kindergartens should suspend outdoor classes and activities; and medical and health institutions should strengthen health protection publicity and medical guidance for patients with respiratory diseases.
