On March 12, 2024, the Shenzhen-Huizhou Intercity Railway construction made further progress. According to Shenzhen Metro Group, the left-line shield of the section from Dongshen Working Shaft to Dayun North recently achieved a successful launch. This marks another landmark milestone for the project, following the breakthrough of the tunnel on the section from Dongshen Working Shaft to Fenggang Station.
The left line of the section from Dongshen Working Shaft to Dayun North Station has a total length of 2,725.441 m and is of a double-tube, single-track structure. It launches from the east end of Dongshen Working Shaft and is received at the end shaft of the underground level of Dayun North Station, comprising a total of 1,515 rings. The shield tunnel passes through argillaceous siltstone, gravelly cohesive soil, silty clay, limestone, and marble; during shield tunneling, it continuously passes beneath unfavorable geological conditions and existing structures in use, including the Youganpu fault zone, Longfeng Mountain, Longcheng fault zone, expressway bridges, interchange bridges, and water conveyance culverts. Gas, communication, power, and other pipelines crisscross the section, the geological conditions are complex, and construction is highly difficult. To ensure the smooth launch of the shield in the Dongda section, the construction unit continuously optimized the construction plan, integrated construction resources, and strengthened construction organization, ultimately completing the milestone on schedule and enabling the project to enter a new stage of track construction.
The Shenzhen-Huizhou Intercity Railway from Qianhai Bonded Zone to Pingdi Section starts at the Qianhai Bonded Zone in Shenzhen, passes through Qianhai, Nanshan District, Longhua District, and Longgang District of Shenzhen and Fenggang Town of Dongguan, and ends at the Pingdi Low-Carbon City in Longgang District. The main line is approximately 58.9 km long (52.836 km in Shenzhen and 6.024 km in Dongguan). The line is designed for a speed of 160 km/h and has 11 underground stations along its entire length. The Shenzhen-Huizhou Intercity Railway is an important component of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao intercity railway transportation network. Once completed, it will create a "1-hour transportation circle" linking the Qianhai-Shekou Free Trade Zone with Dongguan and Huizhou.
