On March 5, good news again came from the construction site of the Jilin section of the Shenyang-Baihe High-Speed Railway: the Gushan Tunnel on the Shenyang-Baihe High-Speed Railway, constructed by China Railway 15th Bureau Group, was successfully holed through, laying a solid foundation for the completion of the offline works of this contract section and the construction of the ballastless track.
The TJ-4 contract section of the Jilin section of the Shenyang-Baihe High-Speed Railway undertaken by China Railway 15th Bureau Group has a total length of 30.651 km, covering tunnels, subgrades, bridges, culverts, as well as ballastless track and track-laying works. Among them, the Gushan Tunnel located within Tonghua City is a single-tube double-track tunnel with a total length of 2,550.26 meters and a maximum burial depth of about 172.12 meters; its geological conditions are complex and the construction difficulty is extremely high.
It is understood that the Gushan Tunnel is located at a key position on the girder-erection passage and has a crucial impact on the opening of the entire Shenyang-Baihe High-Speed Railway. However, the tunnel is situated in a high-latitude severe cold zone, where the surface soil and rock exhibit frost-heave characteristics, and the tunnel site area contains soluble rock strata with a high degree of karst development; there are multiple geophysical prospecting risk zones within the tunnel scope, and major safety risks such as collapse may occur during construction.
In the face of the challenges, the project team of China Railway 15th Bureau Group for the Shenyang-Baihe High-Speed Railway adhered to the principle of "short excavation, weak blasting, strong support, early closure, frequent measurement, and timely lining," strictly controlled blasting parameters, and did not stop work in winter or during the Spring Festival, making every effort to advance tunnel construction. At the same time, precise monitoring and measurement were carried out daily, and support parameters and the timing of secondary lining grouting were dynamically adjusted to ensure the safety and stability of the construction process.
In view of the characteristics of abundant summer rainfall in the low mountain and hilly area where the tunnel is located, the project team followed the principle of "combining prevention, drainage, interception, and plugging," adopted scientific and reasonable waterproofing and drainage measures, and formed a complete waterproofing and drainage system, effectively protecting the surrounding environment.
The Shenyang-Baihe High-Speed Railway is an important component of the high-speed railway network in Northeast China, running through Shenyang, Fushun, Tonghua, Baishan, Yanbian, Changbai Mountain and other areas, and is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in 2025. After completion and opening, it will further improve the high-speed railway network in Northeast China, enhance inter-regional transportation efficiency, promote local economic and social development, and raise people's living standards.
