On March 10, relying on forms such as the "Letter Recipients' Preaching Team," the "Wa Mountain Youth Preaching Team," and "Women's Grand Preaching," in recent years Lincang, Yunnan has integrated ethnic unity into people's hearts like spring breeze and rain, creating a publicity and education system for forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation with Lincang characteristics.

　　Lincang, located on the southwestern border of China, concentrates and gathers the roots and inheritance, history and development of the Han, Wa, Dai, Lahu, Bulang and other ethnic groups. Harmonious ethnic relations have always been one of the social development indicators with the highest satisfaction among the people of all ethnic groups in Lincang, and residents of all ethnic groups interpret the concept of "ethnic unity as one family" through the unity of knowledge and action. In 2023, Lincang was named by the National Ethnic Affairs Commission as the tenth batch of national demonstration areas for ethnic unity and progress.

　　"For generations we have upheld the clan precept that 'the Wa and the Han are one family, and for nine generations and nine ages we will not abandon our companions,' tightly nestled in the embrace of the great motherland." In Banhong Township of Cangyuan County, former village party secretary Hu Saijin often tells Wa children the story of Banlao's return.

　　"We must unite—not only we Lahu must unite, but we must also unite the Dai, Wa, Bulang, Han and other ethnic brothers and sisters, and we must embrace each other tightly like pomegranate seeds." In Xiaohusai Village of Shuangjiang County, retired cadre Li Yuelan carried out preaching while celebrating the "Zhuishan Festival" together with local Lahu people.

　　Cultural identity is the deepest level of identity, the root of ethnic unity and the soul of ethnic harmony, and also a powerful spiritual driving force for current high-quality development. Based on enhancing cultural identity, in recent years Lincang City has also used "one thought" to gather hearts and forge souls, "one main line" to build consensus, "one set of ideas" to improve efficiency, and "a batch of activities" to promote interaction, exchange and integration among all ethnic groups.

　　Hepai Township of Gengma County uses a "small convention" to promote "great unity," formulating and organizing the masses to sign the "Convention on Ethnic Unity," encouraging and guiding the people of all ethnic groups within its jurisdiction to be defenders, practitioners and promoters of border ethnic unity.

　　Yulong Community of Mangpan Subdistrict, Linxiang District combines grassroots party building with the work of creating ethnic unity and progress, launches and implements the "Chinese Nation as One Family, Together Building the Chinese Dream" and "Pomegranate Red" theme activity month, promotes the embedded development of people of all ethnic groups, and advances interaction, exchange and integration among all ethnic groups.

　　In addition, Lincang has innovatively proposed upgrading the creation of ethnic unity and progress across the whole region, promoting the expansion of points and coverage, upgrading of standards, and improvement of quality and efficiency in the work of creating ethnic unity and progress. It deeply implements the "Pomegranate Red" project, promotes the implementation of the "three plans" for interaction, exchange and integration among all ethnic groups, and uses activities such as the Lincang Hundred Countries Overseas Chinese and Ethnic Chinese Friendship Association and China-Myanmar Chinese-descendant Youth Exchange as carriers and bridges to promote interaction, exchange and integration among people of all ethnic groups inside and outside the city, striving to enhance the modernization level of the ethnic affairs governance system and governance capacity.
