In early spring, March, Suifenhe City in Heilongjiang Province, renowned as a century-old port, is still chilly with a touch of returning warmth. "Signal for inspection, collect passport, compare person with document..." In the joint inspection hall of Suifenhe Port, after the female police officers of the Suifenhe Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station under the Heilongjiang General Station of Exit and Entry Border Inspection standardized the inspection process, passengers cleared customs quickly. Such border inspection scenes are a daily microcosm of the female police officers of the station writing their youthful marks before the three-foot verification counter.
The Suifenhe Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station currently has 33 female police officers, with an average age of 35, distributed across different posts such as front-desk inspection and document research. On the eve of International Women's Day on March 8, the station was awarded the honorary title of "National March 8th Red Banner Collective" by the All-China Women's Federation, making it the ** unit in the national immigration management system to receive this honor.

Forging a "Gallery of Honors" with Loyalty
"I am a police officer of the Chinese People's Police, I swear..." To this day, Han Xue, a First-Class Police Chief of the Second Duty Brigade, clearly remembers the oath-taking ceremony organized by the station in front of the national gate when she first obtained the qualification to hold the seal (inspection seal). From the cast-iron barrier gate in 1987, to the completion of the second-generation national gate in 1991, and then to the majestic seven-story national gate built in 2014, three generations of national gates over 27 years have witnessed the prosperity of the century-old port and become the source of strength for all female police officers to fulfill their loyal mission.
The patriotic sentiment inherited from their forebears inspires the seeds of loyalty to keep growing. Influenced by the military experiences of her grandfather and father, Huang Zhaojia, a Third-Class Police Chief of the Fifth Duty Brigade, joined the army after graduating from high school, was admitted to a military academy, and transferred to the police force... Every step of her footprint has been firmly imprinted, making her the third-generation "baton carrier" guarding the border. Like her, 10 other female police officers at the station have embarked on the loyal path of guarding the national gate while carrying forward the red genes.
Since the transfer, the station has been honored with the title of "Heilongjiang Provincial March 8th Red Banner Collective." Among the female police officers, one received the honors of "Top 100 Outstanding Party Member Police Officers of the National Immigration Management Agencies" and "Outstanding Young Police Officer of the National Immigration Management Agencies," five were awarded individual third-class merits, and 32 person-times received commendations, forging a "Gallery of Honors" at the national gate port.

Enhancing Satisfaction with Warmth
Suifenhe is located at the eastern starting point of the Chinese Eastern Railway and is a "city pulled by trains." In the 71 years since the establishment of the Suifenhe Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station, all female police officers, like their male counterparts, have "riveted" themselves to the national gate port, continuously innovating service measures and providing warm border inspection support for the economic takeoff of the local area.
Bing Xu, a 42-year-old First-Class Police Chief of the Fifth Duty Brigade, is the oldest female police officer at the station holding the seal (inspection seal) on the front line, and also the ** female police officer of the Fifth Brigade. The Fifth Brigade carries out cargo inspection tasks, which require not only checking the documents of truck drivers but also inspecting vehicle bodies—dirty and exhausting work. Four months ago, the story of the Fifth Brigade facilitating the rapid clearance of fresh seafood became a much-told tale locally.
"We want to import a batch of fresh king crabs. Could you speed up the inspection and release?" On November 10, 2023, after receiving a request for help from a local company, Bing Xu and the brigade leaders proactively coordinated, obtained information on incoming trucks and personnel in advance, made every effort to ensure inspection upon arrival and clearance guidance, and coordinated with joint inspection departments to implement "cooperative inspection, one-time release" verification, ensuring "zero-wait" clearance for the trucks and solving the company's urgent need.
"Attention, the freight train is about to enter the station. All teams, prepare for inspection." At 14:00 on March 6, 2024, Train No. 3607, originating from Russia and carrying coal and timber, slowly pulled into the Suifenhe Railway Port. Cai Jiawen, a First-Class Constable of the Fourth Duty Brigade, and her teammates provided proactive service and completed the inspection and release in just 20 minutes.
As of 2024, China-Europe freight trains at the Suifenhe Railway Port have operated safely for 6 years. Over these 6 years, the female police officers of the station have implemented round-the-clock uninterrupted inspection and an all-post advance waiting mode, supplemented by service measures such as priority inspection, providing "zero-wait, zero-delay" service support for 2,484 China-Europe freight trains, injecting border inspection momentum into the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Guarding the National Gate with Responsibility
"The text is so faint—could it be a trace bleeding through from the back page?" On February 7, 2024, during a routine inspection, Wan Lin, a Fourth-Class Police Chief of the First Duty Brigade, became alert to the passport of a middle-aged man entering the country. After careful judgment, she preliminarily determined that there was a problem with the passport and promptly signaled the supervising leader to take him away for handling. This was the second case of using a forged or altered entry-exit document she had uncovered this year.
Achievements are never accidental. There are many female police officers at the station like Wan Lin who have "discerning eyes" for identifying documents.
In the document research room at the inspection site, Zhang Nan, a Second-Class Police Chief of the Sixth Duty Brigade, is concentrating on examining a suspicious passport under ultraviolet light. As the ** female police officer at the station qualified to determine the authenticity of entry-exit documents, over the past 6 years, Zhang Nan has issued more than 10 "Opinions on the Authenticity of Documents" and authenticated more than 300 documents, of which 6 were confirmed to be forged or altered.
With 15 years in the police force, she won second place individually in police tactical skills and pistol shooting subjects in the political cooperation zone of the general station, served as a key team member preparing for the national immigration management system competition, and after being transferred to an inspector post, has cumulatively inspected and released more than 20,000 person-times, uncovered one online fugitive suspected of telecom fraud, and been awarded individual third-class merits three times. In practical training, Luan Mingqi, a Third-Class Police Chief of the First Duty Brigade, delivered a satisfactory answer.
Cultivating both internally and externally, training for combat. All 33 female police officers at the station have passed the primary inspector grade evaluation examination, 2 have passed the National Unified Legal Professional Qualification Examination, and 2 have been selected into the backbone talent pool of the general station.
Since 2019, female police officers of the Suifenhe Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station have cumulatively inspected and released 646,000 person-times of entry-exit personnel and 12,000 train/vehicle-times of transport means, uncovered more than 180 cases of violations of laws and regulations, and fully fulfilled their duty and mission of safeguarding the security and stability of the national gate port.
