On March 3, on Huizhou Road in front of the Huizhou Prefectural Office, excavators were "waving" their long arms to remove earth and break stones, while builders seized the fine sunny weather to press ahead with rainwater and sewage pipe laying. The rising and falling sounds of machinery on site played a "song of struggle" in the warm spring sun. Huizhou Road is a main road running north-south through the Huizhou Ancient City scenic area, with heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic, and some cement concrete pavement is noticeably damaged and poor in appearance. To improve the urban road network layout and further enhance the overall image of the scenic area, at the end of February 2024, the Huizhou Ancient City New Infrastructure Upgrade Project officially broke ground, carrying out semi-closed pavement construction on Huizhou Road.

It is understood that the project has a total construction period of 2 months, with a construction section more than 550 meters long. The main construction contents include drainage works, asphalt paving of the road, and renovation of other ancillary infrastructure. After completion of the renovation, the traffic safety of Huizhou Road and the overall environment of the ancient city scenic area will be further improved. At present, considering that the project section is a main road, the principle of "construction and traffic flow simultaneously" is adopted during the project construction period, and the project construction party is also racing against the schedule to advance construction progress. "At present, the construction unit is carrying out rainwater and sewage pipe construction on the right half of the road. We have made adequate preparations in terms of personnel, materials, machinery, and other aspects. At the same time, we have adopted assembly-line construction, with multiple work teams operating simultaneously, and have taken measures for construction in rainy weather to ensure completion before May 1, 2024," Bi Jianhua, the on-site project manager, told this reporter.

While stepping up road infrastructure construction and renovation, She County is also accelerating the creation of a number of sports and leisure venues for the public.

Walking into the construction site of the Fengle River environmental improvement project, the entire project has begun to take shape. Landscape nodes, waterside platforms, fitness and entertainment facilities, and more have all been completed. Lu Qi, the on-site project manager, said: "What is being carried out now is the laying of the water-resistant layer concrete and the installation of children's play facilities. Greening work is in the final stage, and it is basically complete. The park is expected to open at the end of March."

The Fengle River environmental improvement project has a total construction area of about 47,364.4 square meters. The construction scope covers the south bank area of the river channel between the Wan-Gan Railway Bridge and the Fengle Bridge section of the Fengle River. The improvement contents include greening, hard paving, landscape structures, commercial supporting facilities, landscape lighting, and ancillary drainage facilities, while also taking into overall consideration elements such as natural landscape, public needs, and cultural connotation. "After the project is completed, it will not only enhance the degree of environmental beautification in the surrounding areas, but also provide citizens with a good place for leisure and entertainment," Lu Qi said.

It is understood that this year She County will implement and advance 50 livelihood practical matters, involving multiple fields such as promoting employment, social assistance, assistance to disadvantaged groups, education benefits for the people, health, environmental protection, transportation, cultural and sports services, urban and rural construction, and public safety, continuously enhancing the people's sense of gain, happiness, and security.
