At 19:48 on March 4, after more than 1,000 days and nights of tenacious effort, the right tube of the Zhongliangshan Tunnel on the Chongqing-Wuhan Expressway double-track line was successfully holed through, marking the full-width breakthrough of the Zhongliangshan Tunnel and laying a solid foundation for the completion and opening of the project to traffic.

　　The Zhongliangshan Tunnel is designed as a separated dual-bore, six-lane tunnel with a total length of 5,310 meters, and is a key controlling works of the project. Among them, the No. 2 Sub-division of the Chongqing-Wuhan project is responsible for constructing the 3,375-meter left tube and 3,425-meter right tube at the tunnel's entrance end, as well as the 1,100-meter inclined shaft section. Tunnel construction involves high safety risks and great technical difficulty.

　　During construction, the project team greatly improved work efficiency and project quality through refined management and high-standard construction. By tackling the problems encountered during construction through multiple simultaneous measures, they not only ensured construction safety but also drove the efficient progress of overall construction.
