Recently, at a depth of 22 meters underground, as the cutterhead slowly rotated, the "Xincheng No. 1" shield machine successfully launched in the Minwu section of Work Area 5, Section 1 of the Shenzhen-Daya Bay Intercity Railway.

　　The reporter learned that the shield tunneling section launched this time is the right-line section between Minzhi North Station and Wuhe Station. It passes through two key areas in Longhua District—the North Station International Business District and the Longhua Super Commercial Zone—with a length of 2,015.3 meters and a tunnel burial depth of approximately 17 to 34 meters.

　　To meet the conditions for launching and excavation and to ensure safe and smooth shield tunneling, the project team organized meticulously and planned in advance. They first adopted the construction method of large split launching combined with assembly while tunneling, successfully completing all launch preparations in an extremely confined space.

　　The Shenzhen-Daya Bay Intercity Railway (Shenzhen section) starts at T4 Station of Shenzhen Bao'an Airport, passes through Bao'an District, Longhua District, and Longgang District, and ends at Julong Station in Pingshan District. The line has a total length of approximately 69.2 kilometers and a design speed of 160 kilometers per hour. The entire line has 11 underground stations, namely T4 Hub, Airport East, Huangmabu, Shiyan Center, Longsheng, Minzhi North, Wuhe, Bainikeng, Universiade, Pingshan, and Julong. It is expected that after completion in 2026, it will strengthen the east-west rapid connection between Longhua and the three districts of Guangming, Longgang, and Bao'an. Among them, the connecting line from Longhua to the Shenzhen Airport T4 Terminal Station is only 25 kilometers long with a total of 4 stations, enabling travel within 20 minutes. The line will pass through the core area of Longhua, exerting an extremely important influence and significance on urban development and on realizing the scale effect of the urban metro economy.
