Recently, Section 13 of the suburban railway Airport Link Line has achieved new construction progress. As the cutterhead of the 9-meter-class large shield machine "Jiansheng" slowly began to rotate, the left-line section from the Pudong Airport working shaft to the planned Terminal Station successfully completed its launch.

　　The Section 13 project is located in Zhuqiao Town, Pudong New Area. The section line has a total length of about 5.7 kilometers and includes the Pudong Airport working shaft, the underpinning of the south turnaround ramp bridge piers, the section tunnel and related auxiliary works. Among them, the section from Pudong Airport Station to the planned Terminal Station has a left and right double line of about 3.03 kilometers. The tunnel follows a "V"-shaped slope, with a tunnel crown depth of 12.11 meters to 51 meters, and is provided with two cross passages. Two 9-meter-class slurry pressure balance shield machines are used for construction in this section.

　　At present, the shield machine "Jianshun" has completed the tunneling task for the right-line section from Pudong Airport Station to the Airport working shaft and is currently advancing through the shaft, making preparations for the subsequent launch of the right-line section from the Airport working shaft to the planned Terminal Station.

　　The Airport Link Line has a total length of 68.6 kilometers and passes through three administrative districts: Minhang, Xuhui and Pudong New Area. A total of nine stations are set along the entire line, and the maximum operating speed of trains can reach 160 kilometers per hour. After the project is completed, the travel time between the two major comprehensive transportation hubs of Hongqiao and Pudong can be controlled at around 40 minutes, and transfers with multiple existing and under-construction rail transit lines will be realized, facilitating travel for residents and passengers along the line. At the same time, it will further enhance the radiating role of the Pudong and Hongqiao comprehensive transportation hubs in the Yangtze River Delta region, serve the Yangtze River Delta city cluster, and provide strong support for improving Shanghai's global city level and core competitiveness and implementing the national strategy for integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
