In recent days, construction sites of key water conservancy projects under construction in Chongqing, such as the Yuxi Water Resources Allocation Project and the Zaodu Reservoir, have been bustling. To ensure the orderly progress of project construction, after the Spring Festival holiday, the Municipal Water Resources Bureau strengthened the scheduling of project resumption, reviewed and issued annual construction tasks and investment plans one by one, and ensured the full completion of the annual plan.

　　Yuxi Water Resources Allocation Project: Over 90% of investment and physical workload to be completed this year
　　"The Jingangtuo Pump Station has many work contents, high construction difficulty, and high safety risks, especially the intake head and underwater pipeline installation, which must be carried out during the dry season. Currently, we are seizing the favorable opportunity to fully advance the project construction," said the relevant person in charge of Chongqing Western Water Resources Development Co., Ltd. The Jingangtuo Pump Station is located in Youxi Town, Jiangjin District, and is a control project of the Yuxi Water Resources Allocation Project. Its water lifting capacity accounts for about 70% of the total water supply of the entire project. The intake head, as the most technically complex part of the pump station construction, is currently being constructed intensively during the dry season.
　　The relevant department head of the Municipal Water Resources Bureau introduced that this year is the fourth year of comprehensive construction of the Yuxi Water Resources Allocation Project and also a "critical year" for the project. The annual investment will be 1.8 billion yuan, striving to complete the main works of key node projects such as the East Trunk Line, West Trunk Line, Jingangtuo Pump Station, Shengzhong Reservoir, Yong'an Tunnel, and Shuangqiao Tunnel, and to make the Jialing River Trunk Line ready for water supply. By the end of 2024, the Yuxi Water Resources Allocation Project will have completed over 90% of the cumulative investment and physical workload.
　　As of the end of last year, the Yuxi Water Resources Allocation Project had completed a cumulative investment of 11.182 billion yuan, accounting for 78% of the total investment. The cumulative physical workload completed accounted for 74.65% of the entire project. The Bishan Connecting Line and the Degan to Xipeng section of the East Trunk Line have been fully connected, forming a pattern of interconnection and mutual adjustment between the Yangtze River and Jialing River water sources, providing "dual water source" security for the Western Science City Chongqing High-tech Zone.

　Zaodu Reservoir Project: Over 200 construction workers all in place to seize the schedule and progress
　　On February 18, the first working day after the Spring Festival holiday, at the construction site of the Zaodu Reservoir, a national major water conservancy project located in Ganshui Town, Qijiang District, workers were busy constructing the spillway, emptying tunnel, maintenance traffic tunnel, and the road at the Baishantian material yard.
　　"As of now, more than 30 pieces of machinery and equipment and over 200 construction workers are all in place. After full resumption of work and production, everyone is working together to seize the schedule and progress," said the relevant person in charge of Chongqing Zaodu Water Resources Development Co., Ltd. As early as February 15, all parties involved in the Zaodu Reservoir held a special meeting and conducted pre-resumption safety hazard inspections and treatments at the left and right abutments of the dam, the inlet slope of the emptying tunnel, the spillway, and the diversion tunnel construction. On February 18, normal and orderly construction began. According to the 2024 annual construction plan, the project plans to fully complete the diversion tunnel construction task by the end of April.
　　It is understood that the Zaodu Reservoir is currently the largest investment reservoir in Chongqing, the largest agricultural irrigation reservoir by capacity, and the water conservancy project that has received the most central budget investment support in Chongqing's history. The dam site is 35 kilometers from the Qijiang urban area. After completion, the project will effectively regulate the water volume entering the Qijiang River. Together with projects and measures such as the renovation of old cross-river bridges in Qijiang, navigation lock cascade renovation, and river dredging, it will raise the flood control capacity of the Qijiang urban area from a 20-year return period to a 50-year return period. It will also provide production and domestic water for more than 3 million people in the southern Chongqing area, adding about 179 million cubic meters of annual water supply, adding 170,000 mu of irrigation area, and improving 65,000 mu of irrigation area. At the same time, the project is also an emergency water supply source for the central urban area of Chongqing.

　　Key Projects Under Construction: Resumption rate of water-beautiful countryside projects reaches 100%
　　Not only are major water conservancy projects such as the Yuxi Water Resources Allocation Project and the Zaodu Reservoir busy resuming work and production, but since the Spring Festival holiday, many water conservancy projects under construction in Chongqing have also stepped up scheduling and are in full swing.
　　For example, after pre-resumption safety inspections, the Hongtang Reservoir Project in Nanchuan District resumed work at the dam hub area on February 12. Currently, earth and rock filling of the dam is underway, with more than ten machines such as excavators, loaders, and concrete mixer trucks and more than 20 people working simultaneously. On February 20, at the construction site of the Lianhua River in Jinyin Village, Fenggao Street, Rongchang District, workers were taking advantage of the fine weather to replant greenery, pave permeable concrete roads, and install streetlights. According to the target requirements of the Rongchang District water system connection and water-beautiful countryside construction pilot project, it is planned to be fully completed by the end of March. At the construction site of the Ma'an River treatment project in Rongchang District, a small and medium-sized river, in order to seize the pre-flood season schedule, the construction unit has invested 6 machines and more than 50 workers to speed up the construction of temporary water retaining weirs for guaranteed water levels and the excavation of diversion cofferdams. It is expected to complete the underwater part of the construction before the flood season arrives at the end of April.
　　"As of February 18, the resumption rate of key water conservancy projects under construction with construction tasks in Chongqing reached 30%, of which the resumption rate of water-beautiful countryside projects reached 100%. The remaining projects are all planned to fully resume work by the end of February," said the relevant person in charge of the Municipal Water Resources Bureau.
