People are diligent and spring comes early; right now, many places across China are stepping up spring plowing and preparation.

High-standard farmland is being steadily advanced in various regions. In Qiqihar, Heilongjiang, large excavators and road rollers shuttle back and forth across the fields. At the construction site in Bayannur, Inner Mongolia, reporters saw trench excavation, leveling of field ridges, and removal of accumulated soil proceeding in an orderly manner. This year, Inner Mongolia plans to build 8.5 million mu of new high-standard farmland.

For spring plowing production, agricultural inputs come first. Several enterprises in Shaanxi are running at full capacity to produce chemical fertilizers and other agricultural inputs. Logistics providers such as railways and highways in Ningxia give priority to ensuring the transport of agricultural inputs, and more than 320,000 tons of chemical fertilizers have now been gathered and stored. Qinghai has already purchased and stored 39.7 million kilograms of improved seeds of various crops, which can basically meet the seed demand for spring sowing. In Tancheng, Shandong, agricultural technicians help farmers scientifically select improved seeds based on local soil and water characteristics, climatic conditions, and other factors.

Science and technology are boosting spring plowing and preparation. Through a "smart agricultural inputs" platform, the Hexi Corridor in Gansu effectively allocates seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other agricultural inputs, reducing farmers' transport and travel costs. Jiangxi's newly launched digital supply and marketing service platform covers more than 3,000 rural outlets in Gansu Province; while ensuring rapid delivery of agricultural inputs, it also covers information such as soil data and fertilization, realizing digital services from seed selection and seedling raising to the supply of fertilizers and pesticides.

Right now, winter wheat in many places is turning green, and spring field management is at a critical stage. Agricultural technicians in Hoxud, Xinjiang, track and monitor wheat seedling conditions, pests and diseases, and soil moisture throughout the process, and prescribe targeted measures. Fuyang, Anhui, provides categorized guidance for more than 3,000 mu of weak-seedling plots identified through visits and surveys, promoting the weak to become strong and increasing per-unit yield. Jiangsu's winter wheat area this year is more than 35.9 million mu. Gansu Province has formed 773 emergency agricultural machinery operation teams and put 550,000 units (sets) of various agricultural machinery into use to promote stable and high wheat yields.
