CCTV News (Xinwen Lianbo): At present, nationwide spring plowing and preparation are unfolding gradually from south to north, and early rice seedling cultivation has begun in the south.

According to the agricultural situation dispatch of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, early rice seedlings have been raised on 1.492 million mu in the four provinces and regions of Guangdong, Guangxi, Jiangxi, and Hunan, completing 5.3% of the intended area, with progress comparable to that of normal years.

This year, Hainan Province's intended early rice planting area is 1.685 million mu, and half has been completed so far. In Changsa Town, Wenchang City, Hainan Province, local authorities have combined factory-based seedling cultivation with mechanized transplanting to improve the efficiency of seedling planting.

This year, Guangdong is actively promoting centralized seedling cultivation. In this three-dimensional modern seedling cultivation factory in Guangzhou, a variety of circulating mobile seedling machines and other seedling cultivation facilities and equipment are installed, enabling better control of the light, temperature, and humidity for the seedlings.

This year, Hunan Province is expected to build or renovate more than 3,000 centralized seedling cultivation facilities, striving to achieve 13.5 million mu of centralized early rice seedling cultivation.

In spring plowing and preparation, agricultural machinery goes first. In Anyi County, Jiangxi, members of the local rice planting cooperative are inspecting and repairing rice transplanters and other agricultural machinery and replacing damaged parts. This year, in order to improve soil fertility and produce more grain, the cooperative has also newly purchased professional fertilizer applicators.

This year, Jiangxi Province's intended early rice planting area is about 18 million mu. At present, the province has issued 4.302 billion yuan of farmland fertility subsidy funds in advance to boost farmers' enthusiasm for growing grain.
