The Xi'an-Chongqing High-Speed Railway is the first high-speed rail line to cross the hinterland of the Daba Mountains. At the Hechuandong Tunnel, a Level-2 high-risk tunnel in the Kangyu section of the project, all 242 construction workers involved in tunnel construction have returned to their posts after the holiday, working in three shifts around the clock to accelerate construction progress at the tunnel entrance and the inclined shaft work area.

According to reports, the two tunnels under this contract section have so far completed a cumulative excavation of 2,554.6 meters, of which the three auxiliary adits have completed over 1,161 meters of excavation, and the main tunnel bore has completed nearly 1,393.6 meters.

The 13,669-meter-long Qixingping Tunnel is the second-longest tunnel on the Xi'an-Chongqing High-Speed Railway. Located in Xuanhan County, Sichuan Province, the tunnel has an entrance at an elevation of about 443 meters and an exit at about 718 meters. The geology within the tunnel is complex, with surrounding rock predominantly Grade IV and mostly mudstone and sandstone. At present, the Qixingping Tunnel is fully advancing auxiliary adit and main bore construction operations, with arch frame assembly, entry and commissioning of large machinery and equipment, material transport, and monitoring via the intelligent information management system all being carried out simultaneously, ensuring steady and orderly resumption of work and production.

According to reports, given the tight schedule and heavy tasks of the Xi'an-Chongqing High-Speed Railway construction, and to ensure the completion of established milestone tasks on time, the construction unit has continuously refined its post-holiday resumption plan, adhering to the approach of charting tasks and planning ahead, guaranteeing resource supply, and driving the transition from "resuming work and production" to "high output and full capacity." With a "start equals decisive battle" mindset, they are ensuring that the Qixingping Tunnel fully enters main bore construction within the year, laying the groundwork for the large-span section construction in 2024.
