On February 21, at the start of work after the Spring Festival, Ni Hong, Party Secretary and Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, chaired the Ministry's New Year work mobilization meeting and delivered a speech. He emphasized that 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and is a crucial year for achieving the goals and tasks of the 14th Five-Year Plan. It is necessary to comprehensively study and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and the Central Economic Work Conference, resolutely implement the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, and comprehensively advance the 18 aspects and 62 key tasks deployed at the National Housing and Urban-Rural Construction Work Conference, with excellent professional competence and diligent dedication, to promote high-quality development of housing and urban-rural construction to a new level and make new and greater contributions to building a strong nation and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Ni Hong put forward requirements from five aspects.
——Attitude. Shoulder responsibilities, with strong confidence and full energy, and work diligently without waiting for a push. Be brave in taking responsibility, share the Party's concerns and benefit the people based on one's duties, and change "I am asked to work" to "I want to work." Be confident, maintain a revolutionary optimistic spirit, face risks and challenges squarely, make great efforts to study and overcome difficulties, and promote new achievements in all work. Be energetic, have the drive, boldness, and tenacity to pursue undertakings, maintain focus, and both add glory to one's area and contribute to the overall situation.
——Analysis and judgment. Focus on the overall situation of the Party and the country's undertakings, proceed from reality, think clearly, and work solidly. Find the right position, integrate housing and urban-rural construction work into the great practice of Chinese modernization, and strive to be the main force in practicing the Party's original aspiration and mission, the pillar of Chinese modernization, and the vanguard in improving people's livelihood. Stand firm, establish a correct view of power, political performance, and career, and solidly do practical livelihood matters such as renovating old residential communities, transforming urban villages, building affordable housing, and creating "four good" construction. Grasp trends, maintain a high position and broad vision, and be good at adhering to the grand historical view and viewing problems and finding solutions based on reality.

Identify the key, closely focus on General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions and requirements on housing and urban-rural construction work, the major decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, and the people's yearning for a better life to plan and promote work, highlight priorities, and complete all goals and tasks without compromise. Solve difficult problems, "do not avoid difficulties and overcome them," with the spirit of "emancipating the mind and forging ahead with reform," use reform methods to solve problems in development, meet challenges on the way forward, and enhance the internal driving force for high-quality development of housing and urban-rural construction.
