Chongqing East Railway Station is a pilot project of the national "station-city integration development" initiative under the goal of building a strong transportation country. It is of major strategic significance for Chongqing to build a "mi"-shaped high-speed rail network and accelerate the construction of an international comprehensive transportation hub in western China and a demonstration zone for a strong transportation country.
According to a relevant person in charge of the Chongqing East Railway Station Command, 2024 is a sprint year for the construction of Chongqing East Railway Station. By the end of this year, it is expected that the interior and exterior decoration of the station building hub and the installation of mechanical and electrical equipment will be basically completed.
In order to seize the critical period of project construction and strive to secure a "good start" in the first quarter, the Chongqing East Railway Station Command coordinated the production and management personnel of all project participating units to return to their posts quickly and in an orderly manner, and to press ahead with resumption of work and production. With the posture that starting means charging forward and the opening means sprinting, they pressed the "fast-forward button" on project construction. Up to now, projects in the three major sectors—"railway station yard and station building, supporting municipal facilities, and station-city integration development"—have successively resumed work. The construction focus includes the steel structure roof of the station building hub and outdoor decoration, the base and surface layers of surrounding supporting roads, and the excavation and support of the Qiaoping Mountain tunnel for rail transit.

After the holiday, if the principal persons in charge of construction units, safety management personnel, and frontline workers cannot promptly shift from a vacation mindset to a work mindset, phenomena such as lax supervision by principal persons in charge, management personnel failing to arrive at their posts in time, and frontline workers lacking concentration may occur. Without safety education and training, production safety accidents are likely to occur.
"We must be more energized and quickly enter working mode at the start of the year, and firmly and diligently carry out all work related to production safety..." Recently, in Qingdao, Shandong Province, a distinctive "first lesson of work" was held at the site of the Virtual Reality Innovation and Enjoyment Center project. "To ensure smooth and orderly construction, the project department carried out safety briefings after the Spring Festival, delivered the 'first lesson of resumption' well, strengthened safety education, and implemented on-site safety inspections." According to staff of the project department, the project department also reversed the construction schedule, used wall charts to guide operations, seized the golden period of construction, and contributed to the integrated development around Jiaozhou Bay with new progress and solid achievements, achieving a "good start" in the Year of the Dragon. At the same time, to ensure the efficient advancement of the project after the holiday, the project department determined labor demand in advance and prepared a support plan for migrant workers' return to work, helping workers return in time through "point-to-point" chartered buses and "one-on-one" return-trip services.
The Economic Development Zone of Xinyu City, Jiangxi Province, also delivered a "first lesson of work" on production safety to construction sites that have resumed work within its jurisdiction. At the site, workers gathered in front of several display boards printed with common knowledge about production safety and studied carefully. The speaker explained precautions and common related issues concerning production safety to representatives of the construction parties from different aspects, and representatives of the park exchanged details with some construction representatives on site regarding matters related to production safety.

During the long Spring Festival holiday, most project sites were in a state of suspended work and production, and equipment, facilities, wires, and circuits had been out of use for a relatively long time, so loosening or damage may exist.
In order to promote the orderly resumption of work at building construction projects, the Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau of Dafeng District, Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province, organized quality and safety supervisors to conduct post-Spring Festival resumption safety inspections of all building construction projects under construction in the district, ensuring construction quality and safety and promoting the high-quality development of the construction industry.
Quality and safety supervisors of the bureau went deep into the frontline and conducted comprehensive and detailed inspection and guidance on the quality and safety management of building construction projects under construction, the real-name wage system for migrant workers, and other content. Focusing on on-site management such as the safety management of building hoisting machinery at construction sites, training and education for entering personnel, temporary electricity use, and fire safety, they helped construction enterprises resume work and production as soon as possible.
Through approaches such as proactive services and on-site guidance, they tightened the "safety valve" of supervision and inspection for production safety in the resumption of work and production of construction projects after the holiday, strictly reviewed and checked enterprise resumption materials, and conducted on-site inspections. At the Sany Global Science and Technology Innovation Center project in Beijing, workers are hoisting steel structures and carrying out welding and installation. "In order to ensure a smooth resumption of work and production on the sixth day of the first lunar month, we formulated a special resumption plan and scheme before the Spring Festival, and all inspection contents before work started were uploaded to the digital platform." Project manager Liu Junshuai introduced that, based on the self-developed Zhuxiang Cloud Platform, the project prepared the post-holiday resumption plan and safety inspection arrangements, conducted comprehensive inspections of edge protection, material stacking, temporary electricity use, fire safety, and other matters, and completed safety inspection feedback and plan implementation online.
"On the fifth day of the first lunar month, the project leader of the construction unit, the project leader of the contracting unit, and the person in charge of the supervision unit returned to their posts early and carefully carried out resumption inspections of mechanical equipment such as tower cranes and temporary electricity use." Liu Junshuai said that after resumption, through organizing safety education at morning meetings, safety education and training were provided to laborers entering the site, emphasizing safety management and implementation requirements for temporary electricity use, work at heights, hot work, and material lifting. At the same time, through the Zhuxiang Cloud Platform, the dynamics of the construction site are monitored in real time, and continuous voice reminders are given for key hazard locations.
"At present, our resumption rate has reached 70%. The main structure is expected to be topped out by the end of May and delivered for use by the end of March 2025." Xu Shengjie, deputy director of the Sany Construction Intelligent Building Research Institute, said that the project is among the first batch of intelligent construction pilot projects in Beijing and a Beijing BIM demonstration project. It adopts SPCS components and steel components and, relying on the Sany Construction Zhuxiang Cloud Platform, integrates full-process data of intelligent construction in planning, design, production, construction, and operation to achieve BIM twin delivery. Through the application of intelligent construction technologies such as digital design and electric and intelligent equipment, the goals of reducing costs, increasing efficiency, ensuring safety, and improving quality are achieved.
