　　The number of projects and annual investment continue to grow
　　Compared with last year's 800 key projects and an annual planned investment of 378.5 billion yuan, this year's project number and annual investment have achieved double growth. Looking at the data of the past five years, the number of projects and annual investment have also been continuously growing.

　　Working year after year
　　Guangzhou has gradually formed a virtuous cycle across the city's major projects of "constructing a batch, putting a batch into operation, reserving a batch, and planning a batch."
　　This year, the number of projects under construction accounts for more than 70% of the total number of projects. Guangzhou also fully leverages the supporting and leading role of key projects in promoting investment and stabilizing growth, giving priority in various fields to a batch of leading and major projects that are of overall, strategic, forward-looking, and strong driving significance, and concentrating the city's resources to vigorously advance them.
　　From the perspective of project structure, this year's key projects, on the one hand, are laid out focusing on national key investment directions and recent policy orientations; on the other hand, they are laid out in combination with Guangzhou's medium- and long-term development pattern for major strategic and forward-looking projects.

　　The number of industrial construction projects leads
　　From the perspective of field distribution, among the 844 key projects, there are 281 infrastructure projects, and the largest number is industrial construction with 365. In addition, there are 11 ecological and environmental protection projects, 109 social and livelihood projects, and 78 urban renewal projects.
　　Compared with the project structure in 2023, what remains unchanged is that industrial projects have always led in number, demonstrating that Guangzhou has implemented its commitment to "industry first and manufacturing-based city development" in projects. The obvious change is that the number of urban renewal projects has increased from 45 last year to 78 this year, a growth rate of more than 70%.

　　Infrastructure construction:
　　Guangzhou continues to promote the Phase III expansion project of Baiyun International Airport, the supporting infrastructure projects of surrounding airport economy industrial parks, and especially accelerates the integrated air-rail construction of Baiyun Airport with Guangzhou North Station, Guangzhou Baiyun Station, and Guangzhou International Port. Among them, the intercity rail transit from Xintang via Baiyun Airport to Guangzhou North Station (Xinbaiguang Intercity) will be completed and put into initial operation.

　　***Railway hubs and rail transit system:
　　This year, Guangzhou will start construction of projects such as the Guangzhou East to Xintang No. 5 and No. 6 lines and the eastern extension of Metro Line 8 (Wanshengwei-Lianhua), and strive to put into operation the Foshan-Dongguan Intercity, the Guangzhou-Foshan South Ring Intercity, Metro Line 11, and the eastern extension of Metro Line 3, with metro operating mileage striving to exceed 700 kilometers. Among them, Metro Line 11 is Guangzhou's first metro loop line, running from Guangzhou Railway Station to Pazhou and back to Guangzhou Railway Station, and the eastern extension of Line 3 runs from Panyu Square to Haibang Station.
