On February 22, the reporter learned from the Xiangtan Municipal Development and Reform Commission that Xiangtan has publicly released a list of 550 municipal-level key construction projects with a total investment of 333.4 billion yuan, and that the quality and structure of the projects are continuing to improve.

This year Xiangtan has arranged a total of 550 key construction projects with a total investment of 333.4 billion yuan and an annual planned investment of 86.56 billion yuan, including 175 projects for a nationally important intelligent manufacturing cluster area, 46 projects for a central China science and innovation development demonstration zone, 77 projects for an inland reform and opening-up pioneer zone, 204 projects for a national urban-rural integration development pilot zone, 25 projects for a red tourism destination with international influence, and 23 projects for the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan metropolitan area and the strategy of strengthening the provincial capital.

"Compared with last year, the number of municipal-level key projects this year has increased by 72, the total investment has increased by 6.26 billion yuan, and the annual planned investment has increased by 5.8 billion yuan," said a relevant person in charge of the Xiangtan Municipal Development and Reform Commission. The planning and compilation of the 2024 list of Xiangtan municipal-level key construction projects focuses on five major areas: new industrialization, commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan integration, pollution and carbon reduction, and safeguarding peace and health. It lays particular emphasis on four aspects: guiding collaborative innovation in science and technology industries, adhering to the strategy of strengthening the city through industry, precisely laying out infrastructure, and focusing on safeguarding and improving people's livelihood, sending a strong signal of driving the expansion of effective investment through major projects.
