CCTV News: On February 20, widespread snowfall occurred in Henan. On the morning of February 21, a steel-frame structure greenhouse at a vegetable wholesale market in Wugang City, Pingdingshan, Henan, collapsed, causing injuries.

Upon arrival, fire and rescue personnel saw that two steel-frame greenhouses in the market had completely collapsed, with the entire roofs flattened level with the ground along with their supporting structures. Inquiries of market vendors revealed that one person had suffered a head injury and had been taken to hospital for treatment before the fire and rescue personnel arrived, and was not in life-threatening danger. It is understood that the market is a relatively large local vegetable wholesale market with a high flow of people normally, and the fire and rescue personnel judged that people were very likely trapped.

After understanding the situation at the scene, the fire and rescue personnel formed five groups to conduct an all-round search of the collapsed market. During the search and rescue process, another greenhouse suddenly collapsed. After multiple rounds of searching and inspection, no trapped people were found. Subsequently, to eliminate hidden dangers, the fire and rescue personnel used water guns to clear snow from the two steel-frame greenhouses that had not collapsed.

On the evening of February 20, a blizzard struck Shouguang City, Shandong, and the local authorities promptly took snow removal measures to ensure stable production and supply at 150,000 vegetable greenhouses.

CCTV reporter Li Bingchan reported that Zhaili Village in Shouguang City has roughly more than 500 winter-warm vegetable greenhouses. Large-scale snowfall began in Shouguang City on the evening of the 20th, with snow depth of about half a palm. After the snowfall, local farmers adopted various snow removal measures to reduce the impact of accumulated snow on the greenhouses.

The reporter saw in Zhaili Village, Luocheng Subdistrict, that the local fire department had also joined the snow removal work, helping vegetable farmers clear snow from the greenhouses. At present, Shouguang City has activated an emergency response, making every effort to carry out ice-breaking and snow removal work to ensure stable vegetable production, smooth sales channels, and ample market supply.
