The 19th was the first working day of the new year, with fine weather—perfect conditions for construction. At the Xiangluzhou Bridge construction site, the 202-meter-tall "Diamond of the Xiangjiang" main tower stands over the Xiangjiang River, and more than 60 workers are busy below the main tower with bridge deck and ancillary facility construction. The Xiangluzhou Bridge is a single-tower cable-stayed bridge with the longest span and tallest main tower on the Xiangjiang River. After the main bridge was officially closed at the end of December last year, dozens of pairs of stay cables on both sides of the bridge were also fully installed in January this year.

"At the peak of the project this year, about 300 builders will be on site, and with the 'white plus black' (day-and-night) drive, we will fully complete the bridge ancillary works, bridge deck system, and bridge deck guardrail construction to ensure smooth opening to traffic in the first half of this year," said the project manager of the Wangcheng District Urban Development Group. After the Xiangluzhou Bridge opens to traffic, it will effectively connect the Wangcheng Economic Development Zone, Daze Lake, Moon Island, Dingziwan, and other areas, helping Wangcheng enter the "Xiangjiang era."
