The Haishu Section Project of National Highway 228 (Yaojiang–Tongtu Road) recently passed expert review smoothly, marking that the project will enter the stage of advancing survey and design work. In the construction of the project, a river-crossing grand bridge will be built over the Yaojiang River.

　　The project starts in the north at the north-south section of the existing Jiangbei Connecting Line, crosses the Yaojiang River, and then the route continues southward, ending at Tongtu Road, with a total route length of about 1.88 kilometers. The route is built to the standard of a Class I highway with two-way six lanes, a design speed of 80 km/h, and a standard roadbed width of 33 meters.

　　Among them, the river-crossing grand bridge also serves urban road functions, with a standard bridge width of 37.5 meters. The total investment is about 1.237 billion yuan.

　　It is reported that the Haishu Section Project of National Highway 228 (Yaojiang–Tongtu Road) is an important component of the Ningbo section of National Highway 228 and also a rapid passage connecting Haishu District and Jiangbei District. After completion, it will end the history of the dead-end road at the north bank connection of the Yaojiang River and is of great significance for improving and optimizing the layout of the national highway network, solving the congestion problem of Airport Road, supporting urban spatial expansion, connecting industrial areas in series, and accelerating regional economic construction.
