A year begins with spring, and all endeavors strive to be first. On February 19, the Donghongshan Tunnel of the Phase III Nanshan Ring Road Project in Yanqing District fired the "first blast" of blasting construction in the Year of the Dragon, striving to achieve a "good start" for the project construction in the first quarter.
The Phase III Nanshan Ring Road Project, constructed by the Yanqing Highway Branch of the Beijing Municipal Transport Commission, has a total length of 19.8 kilometers. It starts from the south of Nanhongmen Village in Dayushu Town and ends at the north of Donghuiling Village in Yongning Town. Once the road is completed, it will connect the mountainous townships in the southern part of Yanqing District from east to west, further improving the regional "three horizontal and five vertical" trunk road network structure.
The project achieved full resumption of work across all contract sections on the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, with a resumption rate of 100% and a worker return rate of 70%. Before resuming work, the Yanqing Highway Branch made meticulous arrangements, prepared the resumption plan in advance, and reversed the construction schedule. It prepared machinery and materials in advance, carried out personnel return registration and safety experience education, and conducted station acceptance and resumption verification work. It also formulated specific plans for tunnel construction and outdoor winter construction in advance to ensure that resumption of work and production was conducted in an intense and orderly manner.
After resuming work, the Yanqing Highway Branch kept a close eye on the tunnel construction progress and completed comprehensive inspections of the tunnel structure, ventilation, water, and electricity, as well as blasting approval work, in the shortest possible time.
The Phase III Nanshan Ring Road Project has a total of 2 tunnels, namely the Donghongshan Tunnel and the Xihuiling Tunnel. Among them, the Donghongshan Tunnel has a total length of 968 meters, and the Xihuiling Tunnel has a total length of 762 meters. The surrounding rock stability of the Donghongshan Tunnel is relatively poor, with grades mostly VI and V, and it crosses the section of the Great Wall ruins. In order to successfully construct the tunnel, the construction unit strictly implemented surrounding rock monitoring measures such as advanced geological forecasting and monitoring measurement to ensure the safety of tunnel construction. In order to protect the Great Wall ruins, the CRD method was adopted in the section crossing the Great Wall ruins, using mechanical excavation to minimize vibration disturbance to the Great Wall ruins.
The Donghongshan Tunnel is the most critical controlling project of the Phase III Nanshan Ring Road Project, and the smooth breakthrough of this tunnel will directly determine the opening time of the entire project. Under the careful planning, meticulous deployment, and vigorous mobilization of the Yanqing Highway Branch, and with the construction unit and the supervision unit overcoming various difficulties and working together, on February 19, the Donghongshan Tunnel fired the "firstblast" of blasting construction in the Year of the Dragon, laying a solid foundation for achieving the goal of breakthrough of the 2 tunnels of the Phase III Nanshan Ring Road Project by the end of the year.
