At the meeting, Jiang Rui, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Yantai Municipal Development and Reform Commission and Executive Deputy Director of the Yantai Office for the Conversion of Old and New Growth Drivers, introduced the dynamic adjustment of major engineering projects during Yantai's "14th Five-Year Plan" period and the relevant situation regarding the implementation of the list of major engineering projects.

　　According to the introduction, major engineering projects are a key lever for expanding investment, adjusting the structure, stabilizing growth, and enhancing future potential, and play an important role in promoting the steady and healthy development of the economy. In 2022, Yantai researched and issued the "Work Plan for Rolling Out and Advancing the Citywide Major Engineering Projects During the '14th Five-Year Plan' Period," sorting out and planning a total of 138 major engineering projects with a total investment of approximately 2.4 trillion yuan, and forming the citywide list of major engineering projects for the "14th Five-Year Plan" period.

　　Over the past two years, the Municipal Development and Reform Commission has adhered to the principle of "focusing everything on projects and working around the clock on projects." The overall progress of major engineering project construction has been smooth, but a small number of projects could not continue to be implemented due to objective reasons such as changes in the policy environment and adjustments in corporate strategy. This adjustment, in accordance with the requirements proposed in the Work Plan that "projects that truly cannot be implemented should be removed in a timely manner, and newly planned projects that meet the conditions should be regularly added to the pool," removed 20 projects that have been completed and put into operation or cannot continue to be implemented, and newly added 37 high-quality major engineering projects, including the Weichai (Yantai) New Energy Industrial Park, the National Energy Penglai Phase II 2×1 million kilowatt Project, and Phase I of the Luye Biopharmaceutical Project in the Donghai Life Sciences Industrial Park. After the adjustment, the list contains a total of 155 projects with a total investment of 2.44 trillion yuan.
