Improve the road network framework, smooth the "veins" of roads, and provide "artery" support for high-quality economic development. In 2024, the Urumqi Economic and Technological Development Zone (Toutunhe District) plans to implement 27 urban infrastructure construction projects, open up "T-junctions" and "dead-end roads," and further enhance the traffic capacity of urban roads.

It is understood that in order to improve the transportation road network, in 2023, the Economic and Technological Development Zone (Toutunhe District) focused on key areas such as the Urumqi International Land Port Area, the Textile and Garment Center, the Lianghe Area, the Bainiaohu New Area, and the High-speed Railway North Area to carry out infrastructure construction.

As a key area for economic development in the Economic and Technological Development Zone (Toutunhe District), the Lianghe Area in 2023 newly built and reconstructed/expanded 7 roads, including Lianghe Road, Planned Road 3, Planned Road 7, Wei 5 Road, and Planned Road 5. Among them, 4 roads have already met traffic conditions, and 3 roads are under construction.

As a key project of the autonomous region and Urumqi City, the Lianghe High-end Manufacturing Technology Industrial Park covers an area of more than 8,000 mu. The industrial park is laid out with three major industrial clusters: high-end manufacturing, technology incubation, and modern services. The industrial park is attracting investment while under construction. At present, more than ten enterprises have successively settled in, some enterprises have already put into production, and some enterprises are carrying out production process layout, equipment selection and procurement, etc. The opening of roads will also greatly facilitate enterprises in the park.

"The company's passenger vehicle production line was put into trial production in the second half of 2023, and some projects are still under construction. The opening of roads is very beneficial to our product transportation and development," said Zhao Tianxiang, deputy general manager of Xinjiang Dadao Industrial Investment Co., Ltd.

It is understood that the Lianghe Area plans to build a total of 17 roads, with a total road length of about 39.83 kilometers. At present, 10 main and secondary trunk roads have met traffic conditions, and pipeline laying is underway on 4 roads.

In 2023, in addition to infrastructure construction in the Lianghe Area, supporting facilities in the International Land Port Area are also being accelerated. The Beizhan Road utility tunnel is 90% complete; the main structure of the Jinyang Road underpass beneath the railway has been completed and meets traffic conditions; 3 supporting roads in the Lingang Industrial Park (Phase I) have started construction; 5 new roads have been built in the Textile and Garment Center, with 50% of the engineering volume completed; 8 supporting roads in the Bainiaohu New Area have met traffic conditions; in Phase II of the Economic and Technological Development Zone (Toutunhe District), emphasis is placed on the construction of supporting roads and utility tunnels for residential communities. At present, 1 road has met traffic conditions, 3 roads have started construction, and the main structure construction of the utility tunnels on Dongting Road and Huangshan Street (Cuihu Road-Satellite Road) has been completed.

Li Chunxi, deputy director of the Construction Bureau of the Economic and Technological Development Zone (Toutunhe District), introduced that in 2024, the Economic and Technological Development Zone (Toutunhe District) will continue to focus on the difficulties and pain points of public travel, focusing on areas such as the International Land Port Area, the Textile and Garment Trade Center, the Lianghe Area, and Phase II of the Development Zone. It plans to implement 27 urban infrastructure construction projects, go all out to advance the construction of projects such as Beizhan Road, Lingang and High-speed Railway North Area supporting roads and pipe networks, improve the regional transportation road network of the "Greater High-speed Railway" area, open up "T-junctions" and "dead-end roads," and further enhance the traffic capacity of urban roads.
